I enjoyed this journey a lot, we received many interesting explanations, and the landscape was beautiful, especially the flowers and the lakes. It is worth seeing inside the island.

Our tour guide André went out of his way to personalize our tour. We visited places on São Miguel that we wouldn’t have known about or we might not have ventured to with our rental car. We also visited places such as the Gorreana Tea Factory that everyone should visit at least once. We enjoyed a local buffet in Nordeste and saw more spectacular scenery in a day that anyone could ever see on their own. We’ve been to the island several times already and traveled around quite extensively, but I we can honestly state that this was a day well spent - a perfect day! The tour company owner João Paiva will take your personal interests into consideration when planning your tour. We really enjoyed spending the day with André. Highly recommended!

4 of us got off our cruise ship looking for someone to take us to the hot springs and a cozido lunch. Joao was there with many others offering his services. We told him what we wanted and negotiated a price. He waited for us to go back to the ship and get our swimsuits and off we went! He gave us information about the island and flora and fauna along the way. Since he was born and raised on Sao Martin, he was able to tell us a lot about the island we hadn't heard before. He had a nice Volkswagen van and got us back to our ship in plenty of time. Highly recommend Joao and Azores Hidden Tours.

He is a truly remarkable young gentleman with outstanding local knowledge. Even though we had already visited the island five times, he managed to show us countless new places and always listened and asked what else we might like to see or do. The most touching moment of all was when Joao discovered the very spot where my spouse and I had taken our very first photo together upon arriving on São Miguel Island 13 years ago. It was a beautiful and emotional reminder of how special this place is to us. The company itself was extremely flexible. After I suffered a back injury, they rescheduled our booked tour effortlessly and free of charge. Once we had exchanged contact details, we were able to request all kinds of services from them throughout our stay – both paid and complimentary. It is rare these days to find a company that genuinely strives to arrange everything, not just the services listed on their website. If you want a full-service experience for your entire trip, this was exactly that for us.
