Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge

The Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge is a manatee sanctuary nestled in the heart of Florida's Nature Coast. Captain Marty, was so informational. He had a great personality and didn’t make this a serious event, had a great sense of humor. It was my sister and I and our sons (8&1) and he was great with kids and didn’t make us fe bad about having them here with everyone. We saw A LOT of manatees. So worth it to start your day here!

Horribly organized. No, mention on the website that the parking situation is terrible, or that you should arrive way early in order to obtain parking off site a mile away and request to shuttle. We were about fifteen minutes early, but a boat blocking the driveway, it meant we weren't able to actually get up to the booth until about five minutes before our boat departed. We were then told to take a one mile drive off site with a left and a right. No real directions no map. The boat ended up having to wait twenty plus minutes for us. The trip itself was not what I expected, having taken a ride down the crystal river in the past. It doesn't take you into any portion of nature, and there were a million kayakers and boats and other tour drivers, all shuttling around one another. We did get to see a few manatees, but no other wildlife. The price is extravagant for what you get. I was very unsatisfied with the way we were treated over the parking situation, they try to blame it on the pier. All in all I think the best I can do is give it two stars.

Captain Marty was wonderful. He was very informative and professional on his cruise. He keeps his boat very clean and safe. The tickets were reasonable and easy to buy off the internet. The tour was very smooth and we were able to see a lot of the manatees. Some very big ones and the baby ones. My daughter, son-in-law from San Francisco and I had a great time. Thanks for an amazing trip. I would recommend this sightseeing cruise and will be bringing back more family when they come down for a visit.

Had an excellent time. We saw a bunch of manatee. Captain Marty was so knowledgeable and took us to all the right places to see the wildlife. I would absolutely recommend this company.

We had a fabulous time with Captain Marty. He was very knowledgeable and so patient with us. We saw plenty of manatees and learned so much about them and the efforts to protect them. We are hoping to book another tour with them when we return in August.

It was great for all ages, a very informative fun adventure. As it was cooler in the morning we saw many manatee, birds, and fish. Captain Marty made the trip fun and safe.

We went to the early morning boat tour with Captain Marti. We saw tens of Manatees. Captain Marti was super nice and professional and shared so much information about manatees. Marti also let my four year old to seat on the captain seat for a whole, a memorable experience for my four year old. Overall, excellent boat tour and captain!
