Sloth’s Territory is a private reserve located in El Tanque, less than 10 minutes away from La Fortuna downtown (Arenal Volcano).
The place, managed by the Rodriguez Perez Family, it’s a truly gem with vibrant flora & fauna.
The observation hike, a truly enigmatic experience is developed through a safe path. this trail runs the reserve along La Havana River, and offers the opportunity to observe many kind of animals in it’s natural habitat.
Two & three-toed sloths, opossums, red frogs, porcupines, different kind of birds such as; Toucans, Tanagers, Royal Flycatchers, Hummingbirds, Parrots, Honeycreepers, Cinnamon Woodpeckers, enrich the activity.
Our expert guide will carefully show you, all our different attractions and will give you through a unique lifetime experience.
The tour includes a trained guide during the whole hike with professional telescope and it finish with a break to enjoy our more selected seasonal fruits (most of them from our organic field).

5.00We saw several sloths (mom & babies) and dart frogs. Our guide got us great photos & videos. They flag the sloth trees every morning so you can always find them. A great sloth tour, highly recommend. I didn’t need bug spray on any other excursions but I did need it here as it’s a more humid forest. They sell bug repellent if you need it.

5.00We had an AMAZING time at Sloth Territory on the sloth tour! We saw 6 sloths (including 3 toed and 2 toed sloths as well as a mom with her baby) plus some howler monkeys and birds! David was an incredible tour guide. It was evident that he cared about the animals in the area and was very knowledgeable! This was one of our favorite things we did in La Fortuna and is a don't miss experience!

5.00Great fun. Saw many sloths both 2 & 3 toed.. Mother's with babies and single animals. Also saw Howler monkeys, cool birds, strawberry poison dart frog/blue jeans poison frog. Guide was very helpful and very nice.
