We are the only company that offers an authentic night hike inside the Rainforest, at the base of the majestic Arenal Volcano. We are also the only local company certified as Family & Kids Friendly, ideal for all ages.

Accompanied by an expert naturalist guide who will make this experience educational, safe and fascinating. We will explore the trails of Mirador El Silencio, one of the best areas of La Fortuna, in a privileged environment for its proximity to the volcano.

We will look for emblematic frogs such as the hourglass frog, Blue Jeans frog, bullfrog and red-eyed frog.

In addition, you will be able to observe exotic insects, snakes such as the tab viper, Velvet, Stone Hand and coral snakes.

With any luck, we'll also see sloths, possums and anteaters.

A safe, educational and unforgettable experience in the heart of the Costa Rican rainforest in La Fortuna.

What To Expect

Arenal Volcano

Let's enter one of the most famous forests in Costa Rica and the world, the tropical rain forest at the foot of 2 volcanoes, the Arenal Volcano and the Cerro Chato Volcano. Our experience will take you to know the history of how our country was formed, the volcanoes in our area, the climate of our area and the observation of the local flora and fauna among which birds such as toucans, tanagers, hummingbirds and parrots stand out. some amphibians and reptiles such as glass frogs, tree frogs, rain frogs and toads such as the humid forest toad or the great giant toad, snakes such as corals, vipers such as the bocaracá, stone hand or the famous velvet, mammals such as coatis, armadillos, opossums, howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys and squirrel monkeys, a wide variety of plants such as orchids, bromeliads, ferns, mosses and flowering plants.

Very cool activity and our tour guide was awesome. He spotted so many frogs, snakes and bugs that we would have never noticed. He also was dropping little history nuggets along the way which was very cool.

Wonderful knowledgeable guide who took us through pretty dense Forest to see the wildlife. We saw all kinds of frogs, snacks, a fruit bat, spiders and other insects, and a sleeping bird.

Our guide picked us up in a really nice new van and we had a quick ride to the property where we did the hike. It was well organized and we had a small group of our family of 4 and another family of visitors. Our guide Jorge was knowledgeable and shared a lot of great information not only about what we saw on the tour but about Costa Rica’s biodiversity. Great tour for our family. A few notes for others, wear tennis shoes or hiking shoes if possible, we wore close toe Keens walking sandals but got bit by ants since they do t completely enclose your feet. Several of the flashlights died so if you have your own bring it as a backup or a brighter option. Overall we are glad we did the tour and had a great time!

The night walk was amazing! We saw so many snakes, spiders and frogs — the jungle at night was incredible. Brandon made the experience super fun and was very informative. Our 4 year old started to get scared of the dark and the snakes, but Brandon held her hand the whole walk and helped her feel comfortable with all of wildlife. All three of our kids agree this is the best experience on out trip to La Fortuna.
