We meet at the oldest building in Liverpool which was originally built as a school in the 18th century. It is now a centre for arts here in Liverpool. We'll have a walk around this amazing building before sitting down for our first bite which is a local classic.
Liverpool ONE
We have a walk through what at first looks like a shopping street but we'll soon learn the rather sinister past of this area. There's history at every corner in this city and we'll share the stories that not only shaped Liverpool but the whole world, right from these streets.

Fantastic food and drink tour around independent cafes and restaurants in Liverpool’s vibrant city centre with our lovely and knowledgeable host, Helen. Not only included a wide variety of excellent food and drink but also Helen provided us with a lot of interesting historical facts about this amazing city along the way. Highly recommended.

Helen was excellent and friendly. Great food and drink and interesting conversation. Viator is very accommodating. We were running late and were able to send a message and they communicated back to us immediately.

We had a great tour with James. High quality food and wine and knowledge of Liverpool's history. Spiced up with fun things we didn't know we were wondering about. Highly recommended!

We had a private walking tour with Charlotte. She provided us with a lot of historical facts and we went to several pubs and restaurants. We really enjoyed the different foods. Charlotte was a great guide.

We've been to Liverpool numerous times, mainly limited to shopping, however we decided to make a long weekend in the city to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We'd recently been on a food tour in Harrogate and thought we'd try another. Great way to get your city bearings and doing the tour on day one meant we found some hidden local gems that even food critics frequent. (see later). Our host James was excellent, well informed, jovial and true passion for local economy support. We'd booked based on his responses to some of the reviews (witty, matter of fact and polite). The origins of each restaurant stop was explained and that added to the experience. We met at Bluecoats, which was a quiet hidden gem, where we sought sanctuary from the hub of Liverpool One. Unfortunately Scouse was not on the menu, but we weren't disappointed. A short walk to Lunya for a snack and then a brief walk to lunch and onwards. Further hidden gems followed and a "marmite" (love it or hate it) moment at a fantastic restaurant (that you might well pass by) owned by two brothers, whose savoury doughnut invention will test your senses. We loved it. We also hoped that Tom Parker-Bowells (food critic for the Mail) also approved?? On both tours we've met some lovely like minded "foodies" (mostly from Belfast, we must go there next - maybe James can branch out?). We all had different favourites from the tour which is a testament to the variety of food sampled and the city itself for offering it. Thankfully we had a guide, otherwise we'd have probably stuck to the more well trodden food emporiums. Simply excellent.
