The Kaeng Krachang National Park is one of the largest in Thailand and sits right next to the Burmese (Myanmar) border. Pala U Waterfall is a beautiful spot to visit. You will pass through stunning countryside and hills on your drive there that will only take 1.5 hours or so. The waterfall has 16 steps, making it one of the highest in Thailand and those who make it to the top will be rewarded by superb views over Thailand and towards Burma. It should be noted, however, that progressing further than the third stage will be arduous and should only be attempted by those fit enough to do so.

Huay Mongkol Temple
This Buddhist temple is home to the world’s largest statue of Luang Phor Thuad, a legendary southern Thai monk revered for his enlightenment and ability to perform miracles. Many believe that the amulets created in his image guarantee safety in times of distress. The statue, set within a park-like setting that attracts many visitors each weekend, was commissioned by HM Queen Sirikit. Lang Phor Thuad was born in the late Ayutthaya period, in the southern province of Nakhon Si Thammarat. Like the stories about the fall of Ayutthaya, Luang Phor Thuad’s story is imbued with legends and myths. The most famous story is about the miracle he performed while on a boat journey from Thailand’s south to Ayutthaya, during which he turned seawater into fresh drinking water, saving the entire crew from dehydration. Other miraculous stories recount how he helped avert fatal accidents or fire.
Pala-U Waterfall
The Pa-la-U Waterfall is part of the Kaeng Krachan National Park, about 60km west of Hua-Hin near the Burmese border. With 11 tiers, it is one of the biggest waterfalls in Thailand. The surrounding forest is over a thousand years old and is filled with rare wild animals. Walk along the Waterfall in the Jungle. There are still over 400 kind of Birds, Monkeys, Gibbons and you can see sometimes Elephants crossing the road. Please note it is very slippery after the rain so do thread carefully and note water pressure and levels are the lowest in the middle of the dry season. After the Waterfall we will stop for Lunch in a Local Thai Restaurant.

Did this with my 15-year-old and 11 year-old. The hike is challenging but not long. We went to Level 4. We had the option to go to Level 5 but opted not to go and stayed and swam in the pool with the fish. The pool is not deep, it's cold and clean, but if you are squeamish with the fish you might not want to get in. The scenery is stunning. The temple is really cool, but we wished we had had a little more time to explore the area more!

This was a funny trip - medium level walk through the jungle with bees and bugs but was worthwhile. Small kids may take longer, but it isn’t dangerous at all. Waterfall was nice and we also had food in a beautiful place on the way back. On route we visited a temple which was also nice.

Wonderful site. It was good to be in the forest with the rain even if it made the conditions more difficult. Leaves and rain: it slips and the rocks become small ice rinks!

The tour takes you to a temple (Wat Huay Mongkol) which has a giant monk rather than a buddha with lots of Thai pilgrims and then on west to the waterfall in the Kraeng Kachan National Park in the mountains on the Myanmar border, which is a beautiful location. The hike up to the 4th level of the falls is supposed to be 1.5km. Parts are quite steep requiring clambering over rocks where there are ropes to help you maintain balance. People with normal fitness should have no problem. But it's not suitable for very small children, elderly etc. Our 6 year old managed OK. You can get into the water at the pools at the 4th level. The pools at the 3rd and 4th level are full of carp and the soldiers/rangers sell food to tourists to feed the fish. This turns them effectively into fish farms. Am surprised this is allowed in a national park (suspect it is a scam that is not allowed in theory). The swarms of fish, which can only be so numerous due to continuous feeding, detract from the experience of nature. After returning from the falls we were taken to a nearby outdoor restaurant (under shade) for lunch in a rural area near the national park. The food is OK. The tour was well organized and the guide, Pom, was quite knowledgeable and very helpful and friendly. The day we went there were two minibuses and so we only had him on the bus from Hua Hin up to the temple on the way out. The only wildlife we saw were huge numbers of butterflies at the falls, I had thought we might see more than that.

Bobby our tourguide was great, his english was perfect and was so nice. First we visit the temple and after a 1 hour drive, we completed a 2-hour hike through the jungle to reach these stunning waterfalls. It was tough, but the view was absolutely worth it. Not the most beautiful waterfall I have seen but the hike experience in the beautiful jungle was 10/10. Recommend wearing sneakers or hiking boots because the stones are slippery, you gotta be fit to reach level 5 of the jungle but we did it.

A 12 seater hiace picks me up at the hotel and total of five people plus guide leave from Huahin. Stop at a Buddhist temple on the way for twenty minutes for some photos and then to a national park just over an hour from Huahin. Few hills and a dirt paths later arriving at a small Waterfall for swimming. Afterwards taken to a lunch venue for simple meal with a view and back at hotel around 1530pm. It's a pleasant day and decent value for money. Are there better waterfalls in Thailand? No doubt. Is it fun to do if you're on holiday? Yep. Don't regret.

Such a wonderful tour. Picked up in an immaculate air conditioned mini bus with. Wonderful driver and lovely, happy, friendly and knowledgeable guide. Despite the rain, our guide Nook took us around the beautiful temple and shared its history and it’s faith, giving us offerings and gold leaf to gift to the temple (amazing) We then drive into the mountains to visit the waterfall, all the way Nook shared with us Thai culture, faith and the rich history of the King in a lively and entertaining way. We saw an wild elephant cross the road as we entered the National park! The waterfall itself it’s beautiful, nestled in the jungle. We saw many butterflies and a monkey! We fed the fish, climbed the waterfalls (not for those with mobility issues at all) and swam in the falls with the hundreds of fish. We then set off for lunch in a traditional Thai cafe, which was beautifully set out in gorgeous grounds. Omg the food was incredible, we are vegetarian and we’re well catered for, veggie soup, Thai curry, sweet & sour veg, and stir fried veggies with tons of steamed rice. This trip was worth every penny! Loved it!

We luved your upbeat staff Mr Pao (nickname) Tim - and driver they made a wonderful team. Made me feel welcomed and I learned a great deal about Thai culture through the eyes of our guide. Our hike couldn’t take place as the water was considered too high to be safe- out guide worked quickly to try and work out an alternative experience for the day - was considerate to ask all parties in our small group if it was ok / and without making anyone feel rushed even though the driver ended up doubling his driving time they took us to experience lunch and a boat ride to feed the wild monkeys on the islands in the nature park - stunning views - exciting experience on the boat - and even took us up to the site we would have reached with the hike for a cappuccino and best blueberry cheesecake (yum yum) - needless to say we were impressed with the professionalism of your Viator team and response to make your group have an experience to remember- thank you
