The Blue Eye

What makes the Blue Eye so fascinating is that divers have attempted to descend into its turquoise waters to calculate its depth several times without succeeding. Thus, it remains a mystery how deep the Blue Eye is, but the deepest point the divers have reached is 50 m (164 ft) deep. Syri I Kalter (which is Albanian for “Blue Eye”) is a unique place that you should definitely add to your Albanian itinerary.

Nothing beats watching the sun melt into the Ionian Sea from the historic heights of Lekursi Castle — golden light, sea breeze, and panoramic views that leave you speechless.. Also, we savored the flavors of Albanian wine, discovering rich local reds and crisp whites in a cozy Saranda tasting spot. A perfect end to a perfect day!

The tasting experience was exceptional. We sampled a variety of their wines, including red, white, and rosé, each with its unique flavor profile. Additionally, we tried several types of raki, a traditional Albanian spirit, which added a delightful twist to the tasting. The drinks were accompanied by a generous spread of homemade snacks—cheeses, cured meats, fresh vegetables, and traditional dishes—all sourced directly from their farm.
