Welcome to the only place in Montreal that will teach you how to make Montreal bagels!
Montreal bagels are world famous for their shape, taste and texture. A trip to Montreal isn't complete until you've tried one of these amazing bagels. So why not try your hand at making them yourself? We will teach you the secrets on how to make some deliciously unique authentic Montreal style bagels at home, the easy way.
We will start by learning how to properly mix and knead the dough. We will discuss how different flours and water amounts affect the final texture of the dough and crust. I have adapted the best Boulanger (Bread Maker) techniques to the home kitchen. You will become a confident baker at home in no time!
We will go step by step from mixing the dough, letting it rest, to shaping the bagels, to boiling them, dressing them with various toppings, baking them and finally eating them!
This workshop is super hands on so this is far from the "Watch the pro" type workshops out there.

Making bagels in a chocolate factory

5.00The class was held in the old Cadbury chocolate factory so that was fun right there but it got more fun when we put out aprons on. The classroom was set up perfectly. We each had our own work station with plenty of room to make our bagels. We had scales, bowels, mixing stick, etc., so we felt like cooks. The ingredients are pretty basic (which is good) so it was interesting to see how these would end up being yummy bagels. The instructor was great! He gave clear instructions and was entertaining at the same time. (He actually reminded us of one of our sons). There were kids in the class and he handled them well too. We walked out with 2 beautiful bagels after eating one right out of the oven. This was a super fun way to spend a couple of hours in Montréal! (We actually walked back to our hotel and that was nice too).

5.00A++ from start to finish. Will is an engaging, thoughtful instructor, the bagels tasted awesome, and the time flew by. We’ll definitely be making these at home. Definitely my #1 recommended activity in Montreal now!
