Enjoy the great mountain hiking tour of the Cocora Valley known as the Hummingbird Circuit, an incredible natural route of approximately 12 kilometers in the middle of the native forests of fog in combination with the forest waterfall, the 7 suspension bridges, the estate in the mountain and the most beautiful landscapes of wax palms.
This tour starts from Salento by jeep, then arrives at the starting point in the Cocora Valley. Then you will start the tour through the palm forest, a wet and pine forest to the mountain estate. Place where you will have a view of Morrogacho Hill. After that you will descend to reach the Acaime reserve, where you will enjoy a snack and hummingbird sighting, and then continue with the tour in the fog forest and seven suspension bridges that will take you back to the Cocora Valley.
Important. It's a 12 km mountain hike. It's pertinent to have good physical condition.

Starting from Salento, the father municipality of Quindío, we will leave for the Cocora Valley in the jeep willys transport for approximately 20 to 25 minutes, accompanied by the local guide.
Valle del Cocora
Starting from Salento Quindío to enjoy a walk to enjoy the natural landscapes of palms, humid forest and pine to the mountain farm which has a beautiful viewpoint of the Cocora Valley canyon and from which you can see the foot of the Morro Gacho hill , then we will descend about 1 kilometer and continue to the Acaime Reserve or house of the hummingbirds where we will rest a bit and have the snack included in the activity, Aguapanela with cheese or its derivatives. Then we will return through the cloud forest passing 7 suspension bridges, the waterfall of the cloud forest and the passage through the gate that reveals the mountains full of palms.

5.00We had a pleasant time in this valley. The first part of the route is really nature and the second a little more open to the valley. There are some passages a bit difficult but the climb is definitely worth it. The guide explained a lot to us during the journey and we learned a lot.

5.00Very good day spent with our guide Don Juan ! He explained us everything, about palm trees, plants and birds. He was very nice and kind. About the hike, you have to be in a good physical condition because it’s tough ! But I Recommend 100%.

5.00We were in awe of Daniel’s passion and knowledge for the Cocora Valley and its nature and wildlife. He guided us through a 12k hike and was happy to go at whatever pace we needed. We enjoyed talking through the whole hike and came away having learned so much. The peaceful moments sitting watching the hummingbirds will be unforgettable. Would love to complete this circuit again one day.

5.00Fantastic experience! It was a 12km hike but totally worth it. Nicholas was very nice and explained everything really well! He showed us lots of different birds! It was worth the 1km hike to see the Hummingbirds on the side. Very beautiful to watch the gorgeous hummingbirds. Nicholas was also kind and carried some of our things in his backpack! He also brought us snack and was really nice to work with. We ended our tour with an amazing lunch and we 100% recommend this experience. Part of the hike is intense but totally worth the experience!😊

5.00We had a wonderful time with our guide, Daniel. Super knowledgeable and great conversations. We hiked about 5 hours total, saw several species of birds and fauna, etc. We had hiking boots and would recommend proper hiking footwear to do this trek, particularly for the water crossings and mud. The wax palms are impressive and the hummingbird point is worth the effort. Would recommend Daniel to be your guide. Highlight of our trip to Colombia

3.00The guide and interpreter were very nice and knowledgable. Unfortunately, the tour operator was a mess -- they messaged an hour before our start time asking us to meet in Salento instead of picking us up at our hotel, as stated on the Viator ticket and confirmation. After some messages, they sent someone to pick us up, but then didn't communicate where we were going or what we were doing. Nor did they apparently do so to the guide and interpreter once we arrived, for they didn't know where we wanted to go. Eventually we made it, but the guide left us and the interpreter got lost. We traveled 2 hours going back and forth through rivers. All of this would have been fine had there been more communication.

The only negative point, the night before we tried to communicate to confirm the tour, no response, even the same day, zero communication, we had to go to the office to confirm
