This tour involves 4-5 hour hiking in Hakone (about 8-9km) and you need to be fit to complete it. You will traverse the outer rim of Hakone caldera and enjoy lunch and onsen in this experience.
The 90-min ascent up to the mountain top has an elevation gain of 500 meter. Then the 2.5 hour ridge walk gives you a panoramic view of Hakone area (. As you walk through the bamboo field, you will hear the birds singing and see sakura in spring, red leaves in autumn and step on the powdered snow in deep winter. After the ridge walk, you will go down the mountain in 30 minutes and reach Sengokuhara. Then lunch at local Japanese restaurant. Onsen follows for relaxation.
If the weather is good, you can see Mt Fuji most of the time while you are on the ridge walk. Even when Mt Fuji is hiding behind the clouds, you still have a view of Miyagino and Sengokuhara in this traverse mountain hike.
We go by chartered taxi to the trailhead. Transportation cost is not included in the tour price.

Sengokuhara
You will hike up the mountains in the outer rim of Hakone caldera. We will reach the trailhead by taxi and start the hike from around 700metre above sea level. The temperature is generally lower in the mountain this level.
Mt. Marudake
You will hike along the ridge after you reach the mountaintop. The ridge hike will take around 2.5 - 3 hours or more if you take more photos or snack stops. This is the highlight of this tour because the view is spectacular on the ridge. You could see the Pacific Ocean, Hakone town, Lake Ashi, the volcanic steam of Owakudani, Mt Fuji, and more along the way.

5.00This was an amazing experience! Aki, our guide, was incredibly kind and served us tea and snacks. He also took great pictures, and we had a fantastic view of Mount Fuji, clear of any clouds. I highly recommend this tour!

5.00Quite a challenging hike if you are not reasonably fit (well we are in our 60's)! But well worth doing if you are fit or just like a challenge! So in the last 10 days, we have had many highlights during our trip to Japan but this haa to be the highlight of all highlights - partly becauae we were so lucky with the weather to get perfect sights of a snow capped Mount Fuji, and partly because we were so well looked after by our guide Akihiri, with his information and general chat - he was great company! The Onson after the trek was very relaxing way to round off the day 😊

5.00Aki was an amazing tour guide! We had a very large group of 8 people and he accommodated us super well. Our group had varying fitness levels, so I will have to come back for the full hike. I would highly recommend this hike with Aki, it is a great escape from the city and really has amazing views. We got a great view of Fuji. Best of all was a surprise Aki made for us on the hike. See you again soon!

5.00Mr. Akihiro was very friendly throughout the trip and would also actively help us take pictures. The coffee he cooked during the break was also good to drink, the overall experience was very pleasant, and next time I have a chance to come again.

5.00We did this tour on the last day of our Japan trip and it was a perfect ending! So nice to get away from the crowds and into nature. Akihiro was super knowledgeable of the area. He planned a great route and took amazing photos throughout. Highly recommend this tour!

5.00Aki was a great guide! We had a lovely hike in middle to late October. While we didn't get visibility the day of of our hike, Aki offered us a few options for routes and we still enjoyed the hike he selected for the day as it was very quiet and it was practically as if the trails were fully just for us that day. We enjoyed the soba lunch spot he took us too as well as the onsen for relaxing post hike. Many thanks to Aki - he was a wonderful guide full of deep knowledge around the surrounding plants and animals to the trail. There were many steps to this hike - just something to be aware of!

5.00This was a moderately challenging but incredibly beautiful hike along the ridge of the Hakone caldera. The views of the surrounding countryside were incredible, and the views of mount Fuji were superb even with the clouds. Akihiro was a wonderful guide who knew a lot about the surrounding woods. He chose a trail that was almost entirely empty of other hikers even on a busy day. He was very good at tailoring pickup and dropoff at the beginning and end of the tour to each traveler's specific travel plans. If you enjoy a moderate challenge and want a guide for an excellent hike in a beautiful region, this trip is perfect.

5.00Giving it was raining the guide and I decided to change hike to another he runs along the Hachiri road through Hakone mountains. It is the road Samurai clans took through mountains from Kyoto to Tokyo during edo period. Interesting hike and the guide Akihiro was very knowledgeable about the history.
