Come with us for our Express Aurora Hunt and have a guaranteed early return to Tromsø city centre. Leave the city lights behind and travel into the Arctic wilderness. During this activity, our small team of Aurora guides check the forecasts and uses local knowledge to decide on the best place to chase the Northern Lights within an hour's drive from town. On this activity, we will travel wherever looks safest and with the best chances of seeing the Northern Lights within 1 hr of Tromsø city centre. Once we arrive at the best location, we will be waiting for the show to begin. In the meantime, our guides will tell you stories about the North and the science behind the Aurora. We'll have you back to the city centre 4 hours after the start time, so you can be well rested the next morning.

5.00We had a wonderful experience thanks to our amazing aurora guide Aneta. Even though conditions were challenging, she never gave up and did everything possible to find clear skies. Her persistence, local knowledge, and positive energy truly made the difference. Thanks to her dedication, we were finally rewarded with a beautiful view of the Northern Lights toward the end of the tour. It was a magical moment and an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

5.00We participated in this tour twice! Both times we saw the Northern Lights! The first night with Sophie was cold and windy. She took us out to a clearing and we waited for a hole to open up in the clouds. It happened and we saw green and purple lights! We enjoyed the night. The second time We went with Geni. We were unsure again as it was very cloudy as well. Geni found an opening in the clouds not far from the City and again we enjoyed an early night of the Lights! I highly recommend rather then spending the whole night out! The guides were friendly and professional

5.00evgeni went far beyond what we would have expected for an express tour supposed to last 4 hours getting back at midnight.Instead we got back at 2.30am having not expected to see anything due to dreadful weather in tromso. We dont know of any other tour that was successful that night so top marks to evgeni !!!

5.00The Express Aurora Hunt with Wandering Owl was amazing! It was a cloudy, rainy night but somehow we succeeded in seeing the aurora! This is the shorter, 4-hour aurora hunt, departing at 8pm and returning to Tromso at midnight. Small group in a minivan, very comfortable and warm. But our guide, Evgeni, was the true hero of this night. He set expectations, we all realized this might be an unsuccessful attempt, but he drove for hours until he found a spot with a clearing in the sky. Slowly the stars started appearing and all of the sudden, there they were! Mind you, this was all occurring at the time we should have already been back in Tromso, but Evgeni cared more about our happiness and excitement than about making it back by midnight. And for that I’m truly grateful! Thank you to Wandering Owl for having the most amazing, flexible and caring guides and a most special thank to Evgeni, you rock! You made so many dreams come true that night for so many of us!

5.00This was an amazing night on the Spring solstice! We were anticipating low activity/cloud cover, but Evgeni was able to push the boundaries a bit on our timing and found a magical spot where we experienced a majestic display. It surpassed expectations, especially since we were only meant to be on an express tour. Evgeni went above and beyond to check in with everyone's time limits and to take photos for us, ensuring we had the best time possible. As a solo traveler, I really appreciated this too, as otherwise I likely would not have achieved a photo of myself with the lights. :)

5.00Evegeni our guide went far far far beyond anything we could have hoped for on our “4” hour express tour. Instead of getting back at midnight it was 2.30 as we found the lights where other groups had failed!!!

5.00Despite rain and clouds, we set out with Bert, our brilliant guide, on a journey which in itself was enjoyable, along the coastline, then up into the remote mountains. At the most probable spot, we got out, drank hot berry juice and watched the skies clear enough to see gorgeous stars, but no aurora. Bert had supplies of clothing, boots, more hot drinks whilecwe waited, but this was not our night for her to appear. Bert made the trip still so enjoyable, its always a risk on such a very cloudy night that you won't be lucky, but still was a fun night 😄

5.00We were a small group of people. The pickup location was easy to find. Our guide, Bart, was very professional. He explained us the concept of the 4h Express Tour which is different than the usually long 8h tours. Knowing that we could only see aurora if it is closer to Tromso in the Express tour, we were not expecting much but Bart ensured that it becomes an arctic experience and does not stay limited to aurora. Half an hour into our ride, he found us a lakeside corner, very quiet and peaceful where there was a baby aurora. Through his experience, he suggested us to wait here and let it evolve in a bigger one. We stayed there and enjoyed the natural lightshow begin and end in around an hour and half. Bart is a professional photographer himself. So, he clicked some pictures for us and later sent the link to buy but did not force us. It was cold and he offered us hot chocolates and cookies making it a cozy environment. We also discussed Wandering Owl's initiatives to protect the flora and fauna in the region and responsible tourism. He was kind enough to drop us all at our respective hotels at the end. Overall, it was an experience that we will cherish throughout our lives.

5.00We went with the guide Bart, from the beginning he was searching in all apps, cameras and hunting WhatsApp groups to be able to find the best place. The day was challenging, bad weather and chances against. But we still saw the lady of the night in the sky. Without a doubt, Bart made a difference in the hunt. I recommend closed eyes, close without fear with them!

5.00We went with the express tour with Bart as a guide and enjoyed it very much!! It was a small group. Even though the weather wasn't very good for spotting the northern lights , because of the many clouds, Bart quickly decided for a spot where we were able to see the Aurora! We changed spots after there were more clouds and saw the northern lights again. The guide was very professional, making sure everyone had a great time and had a great music taste!
