Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve
You will find different types of habitats, from cloud forests to tropical rainforest areas. Among the most popular are the Waterfall Trail, the Cloud Forest Trail and the Arenal Trail. Hanging bridges offer you panoramic views of the forest canopy and allow a unique perspective of the cloud forest ecosystem. The experience of walking on them allows you to observe the flora and fauna at different levels. Monteverde is famous for its avian biodiversity. It is an excellent place to observe birds, including toucans, quetzals and hummingbirds. You can take part in guided birdwatching tours to maximize your chances of spotting rare species. 5.00Mino was wonderful! He was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, he had no problem answering any questions we had even when they were silly. I highly recommend anyone interested in learning more about the wildlife and the cloud forest to choose Mino, we loved him!

5.00Guide was excellent! He was extremely knowledgeable about the flora and fauna we saw on the tour. We were able to see a small viper and babies in a hummingbird nest through his tripod lense.

5.00Jean Carlos is an excellent guide for bird watching in Monteverde. This was the highlight of our trip. We saw over 50 species of birds! Jean Carlos is very knowledgeable and friendly. We learned so much and saw so many magnificent birds!

5.00Mino is a very knowledgeable and friendly local guide. He pointed out so many things we would have never found by ourselves. Mino has 20 years’ experience and it shows. We saw resplendent quetzals, capuchin monkeys, agoutis, a palm pit viper snake, a toucan and many other colorful birds. Thanks a lot Mino!
