We will pick-up at your hotel, and then visit a local fresh food market to choose the ingredients for your cooking class. Select from the available vegetables, herbs, meat, and spices on display and experience a little of the local life in Yogyakarta. Next, visit a rice plantation and learn how the staple crop is cultivated and prepared. Soak up the scenic views of the surroundings. Continue to the traditional village of Bantul, where you will get a warm welcome from the locals on arrival. Take part in a half-day morning or afternoon cooking class and learn all the secrets of preparing food from JAVA, while expert chefs provide guidance and assistance. You will prepare 1 starters, 4 main courses, and 1 authentic dessert. Then, sit down to a meal and savor the delicious flavors of your creations.

Was great to make a meal that has strong cultural significance and also get this history and interesting information about it. Was nice and comfortable cooking in her home. My partner and I were alone for this cooking class so the private-ness really added to the experience.

An amazing experience! The market tour is truly fascinating, offering an authentic glimpse into local life. The cooking class is equally engaging, you will learn a lot about Indonesian cuisine and get to enjoy the delicious dishes you prepare. The highlight, however, is Desy. She's not only incredibly skilled in the kitchen but also a wonderful person, always ready to answer any questions and to make you feel comfortable. Highly recommended!

Excellent master class in Javanese cooking. Ms Desy is an excellent cook and teacher. The best part was she took us to a traditional market where we selected and bought all of the ingredients, then we went to her house and cook there. We had a chance to shop, prepare and cook lunch in a real environment, not in a hotel and a class room. We also had the opportunity to meet her family. Great experience, and will definitely do it again.
