See one of the most dramatic natural rock formations in the world! Take a guided, small-group tour of the conglomerate rock domes of Kata Tjuta, one of Australia’s most iconic natural features! In the cooler months you'll travel to the famous Walpa Gorge and learn the history and myths surrounding this spiritual place!

What To Expect

Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park

Travel to Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) where your guide will reveal the many attributes of this diverse environment. Arriving at Walpa Gorge you will walk between the mighty conglomerate domes and hear how these 36 domes that make up Kata Tjuta have evolved over millions of years.

Walpa Gorge

Walpa Gorge walk is a 2.6km (1.6 Mile) return walk. The guide will discuss the geology, flora and fauna that surrounds Kata Tjuta. The walk itself is of moderate difficulty. It is rocky and uneven underfoot.

This was an amazing experience. Gorgeous scenery. Our guide Bea was very informative and friendly. Lots of information about the area was given. It is quite uneven and rocky so you must watch where you walk so decent shoes a must. Well worth the trip out there as it is a sight to behold.

Lovely drive, beautiful Kata Juta mountains and awesome Valpa gorge. Being a small group private tour helped to get to location and back quicker than a large tour group.

The trek is on very rough ground. A real ankle twister. It's worth it to make it into the gorge. Takes longer than you think. The flies are terrible.

This was an interesting area to visit and the domes were impressive. Max was a great guide, knowledgeable about the area and its history and how the Kata Tjuṯa was formed. He was very happy answering questions, on time, a safe driver and looked after everyone, ensuring they were ok in the heat and had plenty of water. It was a shame that, because of the heat, we couldn’t walk further into the Walpa Gorge. Make sure you take a fly net along with your water, hat and sunscreen!
