  The place was great. John was a true renaissance man. He was a great instructor, wonderful conversationalist who could chat about cooking, music, hockey, trees.. the works. Very active three days. The place was just right. Rustic, clean and comfortable. We were want for nothing. Highly recommend this adventure.

  What a wonderful 4 nights we had at Voyageur Quest. The whole family felt taken care of from the moment we arrived. Our guide and the itinerary was really perfect for us. I highly recommended getting the whole package. The meals were delicious and well planned. Don't forget to include dogsledding!! I will be booking again.

  We had an amazing winter weekend at the Voyageur Quest Winter Log Cabin with Sage and Mauricio. Both were very professional and accommodating to our needs and requests. Sage provided us the great quality meals and relaxing appetizers by the fire. Mauricio guided us on a fun and educational snowshoe and cross country ski. The log cabin was most comfortable and roomy ,giving everyone lots of space. We enjoyed the night skate with tiki torches, campfire, polar plunge and especially the hot sauna afterwards. The weekend concluded with an exciting dog sled ride. The VoyageurQuest log cabin weekend provided us with amazing winter adventures and I would highly recommend it. Will definitely consider one of the summer adventures.

  Voyageur Quest takes amazing care of you, while giving you your own mix of guided adventures to letting you find your own. The accommodation was excellent, and definitely a luxury experience while still maintaining the cottage feel. Off the grid and away from cell service, the chalets have a warm wood stove for heat, fully equipped kitchen and hot water. Emily (our hostess) was amazing! She made us the most amazing, restaurant quality meals that are hard to find even in the city, showed us how to work everything in the chalet, and told us the best spots to check out as we explored Algonquin in the winter. Always upbeat, helpful and full of energy, she really made our stay the best it could be. The picturesque venue was something out of a postcard. We got the most perfect snowfall while there, and VQ had set up an amazing day of snowshoeing with a warm wall tent for lunch that is a must do! We were told later in the season, the lake freezes up and you skate/walk out, but it wasn't quite safe enough when we went in early December. All in all, a must do, and VQ really gave us an amazing experience. We can't wait to go again!

  My wife and I were celebrating our 35th Anniversary and chose to spend the weekend on the Algonquin Dogsled, Ski and Snowshoe Adventure. Because we were married in January, we have had many winter adventures, and this one was among the best. Our guides, Larramie and Mauricio, were fantastic - knowledgeable, very welcoming, fun and always made sure we (and the others there that weekend) were having a good time. We really learned a lot from them as we explored and got some great exercise. And Sage, the chef, was amazing. Each meal was better than the one before it. And she accommodated each person's special requests. Her ability to prepare exquisite meals in such a rural setting was astounding. We are definitely headed back!

  Absolutely one of the best winter experiences me and my husband have been on! While it may seem expensive to some, you absolutely get what you pay for and more. Remember, it's an experience! A rustic charming log cabin in the middle of nowhere, with the chance to detach from the world as we know it and step back in time a little. It has a huge fireplace which makes the place cosy and warm, charming decor, a great living and dining area, beautiful location, and a group of people who will make it a memorable stay. There is a wood-fired sauna to relax at the end of a long day. Our guides Mauricio and Laramie, and cook Sage, absolutely made it feel like a family. They were so friendly, knowledgable and super encouraging on some of the challenges the activities may present! The food was exceptional, all fresh, home-made and filling, we were never hungry, and there was always a freshly baked snack and hot chocolate or tea/coffee on hand to warm up! Everything was well organised from the pickup in Toronto, to the activities, to the bus back! First day was snow-shoeing, a beautiful 2hrs getting to know the area, and the downhil stretch was the most fun I've had in the snow since I was a kid!! The 2nd day was cross country skiing - having never skied before we were nervous but Mauricio taught us well and kept the moral up, even when it got hard! But it was such an acheivement and we loved every minute. The afternoon you have the option to do more of either activity and we took a short hike across the lake to an IGLOO/Ice hut - so cool! A few of the kids went down the luge! The evenings were always so wonderful, there were games, campfire stories, broomball if you fancy/its not too cold! The final day was the dog-sledding provided by an external company, however, it was super awesome! Mushing is hard work but super fun! All in all I couldn't recommend this enough and we will be back, perhaps with friends or for the canoeing trip/summer stay! Whether you're Canadian looking to see the best your country can offer, and experience something different, or if you're a tourist wanting to experience a true Canadian winter weekend - it's an absolute must!
