45 minutes of “trip” in Ape Calessi to discover the most interesting points of the beautiful Matera: from the sasso Caveoso to the sasso Barisano, from the countless churches to the old houses carved into the rock, an episode to the artisan workshop ... but, above all, a pleasant conversation with Antonio and his colleague about the history of the city of the Sassi and the commitment that all the locals put into enhancing a city that - thinking about what it was thirty years ago - should be defined “the pride of Italy”.

This tour was fantastic. Vito took us to places we hadn’t seen - the miniature village was amazing. But the best part was the visit to the actual cave. A little tricky getting down to it but you’re right on the edge of the ravine - was so awesome!

Our guide is a local whose family lived in the Sassi. He left as a teenager and came back to marry and raise his family. He loves his town and it shows! Great tour!

Fantastic! Vito was great at communicating. He picked us up right by our hotel. He drove us to multiple attractions. He took us to see amazing photo locations and was extremely knowledgeable about the area. He had a great sense of humor and when it started to rain heavily we went to a spot inside with a view had coffee and took a break. Finally he left us off to wander the streets back to our hotel. He is quite amazing and made the trip. The Tuk tuk was fun and it was a great way to explore the city.
Great way to see Matera before exploring on foot!

The driver was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took us all around the town on the 70 minute. A great way to start your trip to the city. It is definitely fun to stroll the amazing City but there are mostly steep hills and steeps. It really helps to know where you want to walk to & explore more.

My family of six booked 2 tuk tuks and had a wonderful time. The guides were very friendly and knowledgeable, and we appreciated the stops that allowed us to go into and learn about a cave house, church, and cistern. The tour gave us an excellent feel for the sassi! Highly recommend!

Vito was an amazing guide. Very patient and knowledgeable. And the tour around the Sassi was incredible, specially coupled with the great explanations. We chose the tour in Spanish and his Spanish was perfect.
