  The cruise highlighted many great buildings along the European shore but it was a bit difficult to understand the English information. We also thought we had booked the 3 hour cruise, so were surprised when we stopped and had a 1 hour shopping break instead of seeing a few more points of interest up the Asian shore. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful!

  We had a great tour with Ugur who is highly knowledgeable and explained all the key aspects if the sites that we visited. He also gave us fascinating insights into the history and culture of the area and tailored the tour around our interests.

  

  

  

  

  

  

• Amazing 3 day itinerary in Istanbul with Merve!!

  Merve is awesome! She had a clear itinerary for the 3 days we spent with her. Our first day it was cold and rainy; most of the sites we visited were indoors, but because there was still lots of walking, she also made sure we were able to get really good water repellent coats taking us to several stores until we found just what we needed for the weather. The other two days, the weather was great! We did lots of walking, but also rode public transportation, cable cars and took taxis. She is very knowledgeable about the history of the sites we visited, incorporating fine details about many of the artwork/mosaics/frescos we saw. She even recommended the best Turkish bath/massage at Cagaloglu Hamami, which I thoroughly enjoyed! She also took us to wonderful places to eat lunch and made good dinner recommendations. And she knows when to take great pictures at so many sites! We also did a Bosphorus cruise tour together. We were in Istanbul at the beginning of Ramadan, so it was interesting to learn about how this holiday is practiced in a predominantly Muslim country. I think Merve is fabulous for any size group; this trip was just my husband and I. I don’t think we will ever try to explore a new country without a personal guide ever again! We booked our tour with her through Viator.

  

  

  

• Tarik’s Walking Tour of Old Istanbul.

  Walking tour of Istanbul led by Tarik. Visited numerous sights in the Old City. Tarik’s knowledge was excellent. He was also very personable in how he put his knowledge across in a relaxed and friendly manner. Not at any stage did we feel we were just having the history of Istanbul relayed to us. Also there was never the feeling of being rushed at any time. His English was excellent and he was always happy to answer any questions asked. This is the first time we have used a personal tour guide and I think we will be pushed to find one better than Tarik.

  We really loved our tour. Aisha was so knowledgeable about all the major landmarks and lovely to spend the day with. She also had some excellent tips and recommendations for what else to do in Istanbul! Highly recommend!

  We had a pleasant tour with Burak. He was nice and knowledgeable, providing plenty of information about all the places we visited. The only downside was stopping at a rug store — it wasn’t something we particularly enjoyed, and we felt the time could have been better spent seeing another site. Overall, a good and informative experience with a friendly guide.

  Numan Tasdogan is one of the best tour guides we have ever experienced. He was very helpful and accommodating of our strict schedule and did an amazing job touring us around the city. Highly recommend requesting him when you come to Istanbul!

  It is our first time here in Turkey and Kemal was a fabulous guide! His explanations at the historical sites were informative and interesting, he answered all of our questions very thoroughly and also provided us with valuable information about restaurants and stores for later. Kemal also recommended a fabulous restaurant for lunch. He took us to a beautiful carpet store and to a few stores in the grand bazaar he recommends, but at no time did we feel any pressure to buy anything. We highly recommend visiting Istanbul with Kemal!

  We did the 3-day tour and had a very enjoyable time with Ozan. Ozan is very knowledgeable and attentive, always check what we are interested to see and do at the different attractions, and if we need breaks or food in between. He is also very flexible with the itinerary and would adjust based on our preference and energy level.
