Named after the Pey Berland Tower, this lively square offers a mix of architectural beauty, cultural significance, and vibrant energy. So this was a great way to spend a morning learning our way around Bordeaux. Along the way, our tour guide, Alexandra, peppered us and our fellow foodies with questions about our likes and dislikes, taking us to a Boulanger, a boucherie, a patisserie, a magasin de vins, a chocolatier and multiple specialty stores, which thankfully included a stop at Dune Blanches. Possessed with great insight into local foods and local history, mixed with charm and good humor, Alexandra was the perfect tour guide to introduce us and other bon vivants to the City of Bordeaux with some great tips for where to go and where to shop. Our tour culminated perfectly in a midday meal paired with some nice Bordeaux wine and some wonderful company - a five-star morning.

Alexandra from the Bordeaux Foodie was a wonderful guide. She is knowledgeable and engaging. The tour stops are in small local shops where you meet the owners, hear their stories and sample their products. As you walk along the streets, Alex gives you a Bordeaux history lesson. The tour ends in a local wine shop where you learn about the different grapes of the region and enjoy a couple of locally produced wines. All in all, a lovely way to spend a few hours learning and tasting what Bordeaux has to offer. Recommend!

If you’re looking for a truly memorable way to experience Bordeaux, The Bordeaux Foodie tour with Alexandra is an absolute must. Over the course of four delightful hours, Alexandra—a French Filipina with an infectious passion for the city—guides you through her personal discoveries of Bordeaux’s rich culinary scene. What sets this tour apart is how thoughtfully curated it is. You’re not just sampling delicious bites and sipping local wines (though there’s plenty of that!); you’re also learning about the soul of the city through its food, its people, and its history. Alexandra brings it all to life with quirky, entertaining stories—including amusing tales of early royals who once called Bordeaux home. Her storytelling is just as satisfying as the food. She has clearly fallen in love with Bordeaux, and through this tour, it’s impossible not to fall in love with it, too. It’s the perfect way to get your bearings in the city, understand local culture, and, of course, indulge your inner foodie. Easily one of the best experiences I had in Bordeaux—and one I would recommend without hesitation.

We had the most wonderful tour with Alexandra - history, culture, food, wine. It was so relaxed. We visited local independent, family owned businesses we would never have found on our own. We ended with lunch (too much to finish!) and wine tasting. We loved discovering the links between culture, history and food. Afterwards Alexandra sent us the names of the places we’d visited. Definitely going back to some of those!
