I wish I had encountered this company prior to setting up reservations with another company at the start of my visit. After a very disturbing interaction with another company, I was hesitant to do any further excursions. However, this company operates as an amazing business, with great customer service, and enthusiastic tour guides. Today I had the opportunity to attend an excursion that included Boti Falls, Aburi Gardens, Umbrella Rock, and the first cocoa farm in Ghana. Peter was the tour guide, and he was extremely enthusiastic, very informative, very intuitive and ensured that the conversation was always flowing. He had an amazing personality and was extremely accommodating for whatever we needed. After everyone was picked up, we got on the road just before 9 AM and got back on the road to get back to Accra just after 6 PM. It’s a great one day trip, but please be prepared to pace yourself and know your endurance and fitness level for the hike to Umbrella, Rock and the staircase leading to Boti Falls - Going down is not the issue it’s coming up that can be very tiring after such a serene and relaxing moment. The Cocoa Farm was a nice short visit with samples of the cocoa fruit and the cocoa pod. Aburi Gardens was at the end as that location is closer to Accra and that is where we had a late lunch/early dinner. Aburi Gardens is picturesque and definitely worth the visit. It’s a great way to end the day as walking around the park is completely flat compared to other parts of the excursion. The tour was smooth, the pick up and drop off was timely, and the price is right! I look forward to my next visit to Ghana and will definitely use Expedition Tours again, as well as recommend them to anyone who is coming to Ghana.

It was good to get outside of Accra and see the natural beauty of Ghana. Seeing the beautiful mountain side that was lush and green and meandering through the quaint towns along the way you get more of a comprehensive experience of the country. Having a chance for a more intimate explanation of regional and national customs and culture was a major plus. The lunch stop had fantastic food. The falls were gorgeous. The geological formations phenomenal. The botanical gardens and more important the guides there were the icing on the cake. Understanding the relevance of the plants to the culture and history of Ghana was the highlight of the tour. I would absolutely do this tour again. The only drawback (one that the company can’t control) was the time it took to travel the distance due to road construction traffic (which will improve when the work is done).

We took this 7-hour day trip from Accra, and it was a fantastic mix of nature, adventure, and culture. The tour included Boti Falls, Umbrella Rock, Aburi Botanical Gardens, and a cocoa farm visit, all with smooth logistics and a friendly guide. Highlights: Boti Falls: The waterfall was breathtaking. The hike to the falls was manageable and well-paced, offering plenty of opportunities to enjoy the scenery. The mist from the falls was refreshing, and the kids were mesmerized. Umbrella Rock: This unique rock formation was fun to explore. It was a great spot for photos and for the kids to enjoy a bit of light climbing. Aburi Botanical Gardens: A peaceful and beautiful space with massive trees, flowers, and shaded walking paths. It was perfect for a calm break in the day and offered a glimpse into Ghana’s rich plant biodiversity. Cocoa Farm: Very educational! We got to see cocoa pods, learn about the harvesting process, and understand how chocolate is made. The kids loved seeing the colorful pods and tasting fresh cocoa. Tour Logistics: Approximately 7-8 hours, including driving from Accra. The travel time was comfortable, with a clean vehicle and courteous driver. Our guide (George) was knowledgeable, engaging, and attentive to our family’s pace, which made the day enjoyable for both adults and children. Tips for Families: Wear comfortable shoes for walking and light hiking. Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and insect repellent. A light rain jacket or poncho is helpful near Boti Falls, as the spray can be strong. Great for kids who enjoy nature, exploration, and hands-on learning. Overall: This tour is highly recommended for anyone looking to combine Ghanaian natural beauty, adventure, and cultural learning in a single day. It’s well-organized, scenic, and family-friendly, with experiences that appeal to all ages. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Never made it to the excursion , it was literally cancelled the day of the trip. Poor communication , transparency and honesty . If you can’t honor the excursion , give the client the same 24hrs notice that you require for cancellation, so other arrangements for a clients day can be made . At least , I was able to get a refund after several phone calls and reaching out to Viator customer service .

This is another "must do" if you have time in Ghana. It was a good, fairly challenging hike to Umbrella Rock and the views from up there very rewarding. Boti Falls was so peaceful - we were the only ones there! Don't forget your swimming gear like I did!!! Cocoa Farm was really interesting, and the same with Aburi Gardens. We also had a delicious lunch there for just 100 cides. The transport - a minivan - was very comfortable and our driver Peter did a great job at getting us around.

We arranged the Expedition Go Tour to Boti Falls, Aburi Gardens & Cocoa Farm Day Tour. We were very disappointed that the tour did not go as planned and we were unable to complete one major part of the trip, the Aburi Gardens visit, because of problems in planning. We had a nice guide and the two sites we did see, Boti Falls and the Cocoa Farm were very interesting. But Expedition Go Tours could have prevented the problems with improved planning. In the Trip Advisor listing, the pick up was described as starting between 6 AM and 8 AM, however we were told the night before that pick up was between 8:45 and 9:00 am. It turned out that this was too late to start that day. There were two major problems. Shortly after we started, our tour guide stopped at a tire shop because he thought some of the tires on the vehicle were not safe. We were there about an hour while some of the tires were replaced. When we arrived at the tire shop, there was no traffic. However, by the time we left the tire shop, the traffic was terrible. Our guide rearranged the order of the trip, which was fine with the group, with the plan to visit Aburi Gardens last. Once we left the tire shop, the traffic was stop and go for well over an hour. Our guide told us that funerals were often held outside of Accra on the first Saturday of the month, which was the reason for all the traffic. Once we reached our first stop at the Cocoa Farm tour, it after noon. After that we stopped for lunch and drove to Boti Falls. We left Boti Falls just before 5:00 pm and about halfway to the Aburi Gardens, we hit stop and go traffic again, which was now leaving the funeral. It gets dark at 6:00pm and a little before 7:00 our guide asked us if we wanted to go to the Aburi Gardens or skip it and go back to town. Because it was so late and dark we decided to skip the Gardens. (Also, while our guide said they had lights, if you look at the Aburi Gardens website, they close at 4:30.) We got back to our hotel around 8:00 pm without going to the Aburi Gardens. No offer was made of a partial refund for the missed part of the tour. My family and I believe poor planning on the part of Expedition Go Tours was the cause of the poor trip and we have requested a partial refund (I do not know yet if this has been granted.) First, while we appreciate our guide’s concern for vehicle safety, the company should maintain their vehicles and the tires should have been checked and replaced before the trip, not when we were in the car. This was a huge delay. Second, our guide did not seem surprised by the funerals that day; if certain days are known for funerals, the trips should start earlier on those days to get ahead of the traffic. We ended up being very disappointed in this tour.
