This tour takes you to explore Cholula, the oldest living town in Latin America, full of history, tradition and culture. Here you will discover the largest pyramid in the world, not only for its imposing base, but also for its relevance as a pre-Hispanic ceremonial center. You will walk through the inner tunnels of the pyramid and admire the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies, located at its peak, from where you get spectacular views of the volcanoes and the valley.

Great Pyramid of Cholula

On this tour we will visit the Archaeological Zone of Cholula, home to the largest pyramid in the world by its base, crowned by the majestic Shrine of Our Lady of Remedies. This site combines pre-Hispanic legacy and colonial tradition in a unique setting. Walk through its inner tunnels, explore the platforms and learn about the rich history of this sacred city that was an important ceremonial center of Mesoamerica. Bruno, our guide, and Chris, our driver, exceeded our every expectation. From the moment we entered their van the learning experience began and continued to time we were returned to our origin. The breadth and depth of Bruno’s knowledge of the regions we drove through and the places we visited was bountiful, interestingly presented and put into context with world history. Throughout our trip and tour Chris expertly maneuvered through the traffic and its many challenges safely and comfortably.

We were group of six women and we all truly enjoyed our trip to Cholula. Van was clean, driver and our tour guide, Alexa were GREAT!! Alexa was knowledgeable, sweet, patient…..simply the BEST!!

Our guide, Danna, and our driver, Alberto provided the perfect Cholula experience. We visited the Cholula archaeological museum, and the archaeological zone, visited amazing churches, had a taste of local liqueurs, and got to know all about the beautiful Talavera tiles. Danna was the perfect guide, and her knowledge of the history and geography of the area made this an absolutely wonderful tour.

Alexa was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible. She tailored the tour to our interests and pace, making sure we got the perfect experience. Oh… and the Teokali and churches we visited were amazing as well. 😁 Would highly recommend Unlimited Experiences and Alexa, and will utilize this service the next time we are in Puebla/Cholula!

Alexa was a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable about the history of Cholula and also Puebla. My brother and I learned a great deal about the site, including the church that sits above the ruins. We are both in our 70's and I was pretty slow. Alexa was very patient and encouraging. I am so glad we took this tour. Also, 2 more excellent churches were included and we had mezcal and tequilla tastings, too. Highly recommend the service of Alexa and our driver, Alberto!
