This tour is subject to the availability of reservations at the National Park. If availability is not confirmed, access will still be granted, but the hike will start at La Joya and the destination will be Paso de Cortés, covering 7 km one way and 7 km back.

Access to the Iztaccíhuatl-Popocatépetl National Park is via a dirt road, which may cause movement in the vehicle due to the terrain conditions. For this reason, we proceed at a slow speed to ensure safety and comfort during the journey.

I had a unique and very strong experience on the Iztaccihuatl! Besides the chance I had with the weather that could not be better, I had the best guide there is, Aaron, whom I thank again for his enlightened advice, his geological, geographical and cultural explanations and for all the other exchanges! My physical conditions even allowed us to push two levels higher than expected to reach the 5000m which was unexpected.

We made a last minute booking for a hiking tour with Unlimited Experiences and they were very responsive. Very punctual pick up from the Puebla hotel for our day hike. Aaron was our private guide - he was great in giving us a good background about the hike, the volcanoes and just Puebla in general. The hike was well paved and very scenic - we loved it and took many great photos. Highly recommend to anyone who want to do something different when visiting Puebla!

I climbed iztaccihual with 3 summits adventure. I highly recommend this company if you plan to do any of the surrounding peaks. Yvonne kept a good steady pace, was attentive to how we were doing/ feeling throughout the climb and kept us safe. Although it was a tough hike, we successfully reached the summit!

Great experience with a true local! We are quite experienced hikers but didnt know how we would have handled the altitude. With a smooth pace we managed to hike from 3900 to 4500m with a beautiful view, despite the cloudy weather. Aaron shared a lot of interesting information with us, I would definitely recommend!

Really good experience hiking with Ariel. A difficult home for some no doubt due to the altitude - we found it tough at times, but worth the effort. Spectacular views. Hosts provided drinks etc that weren’t expected. Very pleased with this experience overall

The trip was well organised from the beginning to the end. Our guide was really friendly and good at explaining the things while driving to the starting point from our hike. Further, he made sure that the hike itself went smoothly even though it was challenging at times since we had never been hiking at that hight before. Also, the driver did a really good job even though the road was bumpy.

Pablo was an incredible guide! I was picked up directly from the address I was staying at and enjoyed our ride up to Izta-Popo. Even though the weather wasn't cooperating in order to hike as far as I would've liked, I thoroughly enjoyed my hike and learned a lot of Mexican history from Pablo during my trip. He was friendly, polite, and patient while I took my time climbing in the high altitude. Thank you for an excellent experience!

I missed my hostel's Izta tour and was able to sign up for this tour at the last minute. The person who helped me was friendly, responsive, and informative. Ariel and Pablo were my guides for the hike and they were lovely. I was nervous it would be awkward with just the three of us, but it was fun. They spoke English very well, provided lots of interesting information about the region, and were experienced hikers. A few things to know about this tour: it's a fairly long journey to the start of the hike, including some very bumpy dirt roads. Be prepared for altitude sickness (especially if you're like me and signed up for this hike on your first full day in Mexico). Because of the elevation, the hike may be more difficult than you're used to. I was only able to make part way to our intended point on the volcano, but the guides were SO patient and understanding.
