You will have the opportunity to learn the history of the wine estates and see all the wine cultivation and production process, being at the source of the Porto Wine. The "birthplace" of this unique nectar!
During the tour enjoy 6 wine tastings while admiring the astonishing landscapes and serenity of the Douro Valley, recognized as World Heritage Site by UNESCO, since 2001.
The guided visit to 2 different wine estates with tastings, a complete traditional lunch with Douro wines and a scenic 50 minutes cruise on the Douro River is included on this full package.

What To Expect
Porto
Your expert guide will collect you from your hotel/accommodation or meeting point and will drive you to the renown Douro region. On your way to the Douro, the guide will give you insights regarding the Portuguese history, development and cultural facts of portuguese heritage. Half Way through the drive to the Douro Region we will do a short stop for a coffee break.

2.00It’s a really, really long day. The tour guide was great but the bus was so insanely hot with little to no air conditioning. That’s a huge problem when you’re on a bus for 7 hours in the summer heat. Please check the weather in the Douro Valley before you go - it’s much hotter than Porto. There should’ve been a heads up. The tour went longer than was advertised. Left at 7:40am and got back at 6:30pm. Only stopped at two wineries for a short amount of time - and they are only port wines which is not advertised. The boat ride was pointless. You just see the exact same vineyards you saw on the bus but on a boat. Very uncomfortable too. The only pleasant part of the day was our tour guide Slimmy. He was super informative and you could tell he cared a lot about what he does. He made a great effort to genuinely connect with each and every person on the tour. He’s honestly the only reason this gets 2 stars instead of one.

5.00We had a fantastic time on our tour to the Douro Valley, but that was partly because we were told by friends who did the tour beforehand that we were mainly going to be tasting ports. If we had not known that I think we would have been a bit disappointed because we would have thought we were mainly tasting table wines. With our expectations set, we had a fantastic time. The Douro Valley was stunning, the vineyards we visited were beautiful and the staff was friendly and our tour guide, Pedro, was fantastic--knowledgeable, funny, considerate. I would definitely recommend if you want to taste port and/or are interested in seeing beautiful Portuguese vineyard country.

5.00It was a lovely tour and brilliant guide/driver but the area we were going to for the wine tasting was very hot which we weren't aware of till the guide told us on pick up. It didn't spoil the tour but just meant we couldn't do the full programme at the second vineyard because it was too hot to walk round the vines. In light of that it may have been better to skip the second vineyard and come back but I appreciate it won't be the same all year.
