Good for avoiding crowds, we guide small groups that give you a more local immersion personalized experience. The quality of our guides, wines and the wineries visited stand out from other tours.
The tour begins with a visit to a port wine producer: Quinta da Roêda. There will be a personalized guided tour on the vineyards where the process of making the port wine will be explained. The wine tasting will be accompanied by a careful selection of Portuguese cheeses.
After tasting, we will embark 1 hour boat ride where the calm of the river will inspire us. This soothing ride is the best time to contemplate the landscape and nature of the Douro Valley.
Lunch is served in a beautiful farm overlooking to the vineyards where there are several food options: fish, meat or vegetarian. Everything are included in the price.
The second winery is a small table wine producer, It will be an interesting opportunity to have more contact with the locals. The visit ends with an olive oil tasting.

What To Expect
Porto
The pickup will be made at a pick-up point in the city of Porto, the journey to the Douro Valley is about 1h30 minutes.
Quinta do Panascal
Visit to Quinta do Panascal where we will take a tour to the vineyards and a tasting of 3 Port wines.

5.00This experience does take a full day from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. so be prepared. The van and our guide Jorge, was excellent. He had water ready and we visited 2 wineries and had a boat tour. We could have passed on the boat tour - it just went up and down the river and if you wanted commentary you needed to scan a QR code. We had lunch at Casa Dos Barros - very pretty place but the food was just passable. The drink glasses were sticky and mine had lipstick stains on them so not sure if they were washed? They had cut up bread pieces with olives (not olive oil), followed by a very tiny salad, then there was a meat dish with risotto. For vegetarians, there was a bland pasta. Dessert was chocolate cake and to drink they did give us a whole bottle of red wine AND white wine. You will all be pretty sleepy on the drive back so it's a good thing you won't be driving!

5.00While this trip cost a little more than some of the other Douro Valley excursions we were looking at, it was well worth the few extra dollars. Samuel, our guide, was prompt to pick us up at our specified location, drove with care, and provided outstanding recommendations for dinner and things to do during the remainder of our time in Porto. We loved the two vineyards we visited, along with lunch at a beautiful estate. Thanks, Samuel, for helping us create memories that will last a lifetime!
