  We had the best time! All the wine you can drink at multiple vineyards, a boat ride, snacks, a big lunch, and a ride home. The Douro valley is stunning and this tour is a way to see multiple parts of it. Our tour guides told us all about the process of making port wine and how it’s based on the region and certain factors like champagne is in France. We even learned about how cork is harvested from trees without cutting it down. There’s a lot of history in the area and it’s fascinating to learn about while also enjoying the different products of the region in a small group setting.

  Such a wonderful tour from Porto! The Douro Valley is breathtaking and everything was very well organized — wineries, lunch, and the river cruise were all excellent. Our guide David was outstanding: knowledgeable, professional, funny, and genuinely cared about making sure we had a great time. One of the best tours we did in Portugal!

  What a terrific day. Jose our guide was tremendous… he kept us entertained and informed all day. The farms/ wineries were excellent! They were both very educational and the wines tasted great.. so good we shipped bottles back to Florida. We highly recommend Jose and your tour!

  Wow. What a day enjoying the Duoro Valley. This is a must when you visit Portugal and this trip covers all the bases and makes it seamless for you. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

  We had a great day in the Douro Valley with one other pair and our guide Andrea. The pickup was smooth, the van comfortable and clean, and the driving safe. The two vineyards we visited were lovely and not overcrowded. We stopped a couple of times for views, historic train station, and coffee. Lunch was in a grand old house and the food was tasty. The only meh part of the trip was the boat ride which was mostly due to the weather (very brisk) and some noisy teenagers that were part of another group that was on the boat. Andrea was full of interesting information and a genuinely kind person. The tour was a little pricey compared to others but very worth it for the small group size and the personalised experience.

  This whole experience left a lot to be desired. Honestly, the itinerary tells exactly how the trip is going to go, so I’m not sure why I was expecting anything else. It’s a 10 hour tour but you spend approximately 6 of those hours in a car or on a boat…not actually touring wineries. In all fairness, it is a far drive to the valley, BUT I wish we had gone to more wineries. So…1.5 hour drive, then the first winery..: First winery: the tour guide gave the synopsis and the lady working there (owner?) read the wine labels to us and poured. Everyone was lovely, but it wasn’t anything special. Then, 30 minute drive to the boat— The boat: the tour guide drops you off on a boat. You get on with other tour groups and the boat takes you 15 minutes down the river, turns around and brings you back. There’s an audio guide you can download, but if you didn’t bring your headphones, you’re out of luck. The crew member smoking cigarettes on the back of the boat left the entire coverture reeking of cigarette smoke. Then, 15 minute drive to lunch— Lunch was good. Wine and the option of 3 meals. Decent food. Fortunately our little group had a good time chatting because you are sat at a table with your group. Then another 15 minute drive to the next winery— Second winery: actually a really fun experience. The guy there was engaging and entertaining. Very friendly and funny. We had a good time there and I wish we had more time to just hang out and drink with the group. Finally…the hour and a half drive home.. Our guide was nice and our group was fun. The thing I felt was most worth the money was the fact that it was just 5 of us in the group and not 25 packed on a bus like sardines. We expected to try more wines. The views/scenery was beautiful. Knowing what we know now, we probably would have planned differently to do our own tour of the valley.

  Excellent day trip with Rodrigo - he was really one of the best guides we’ve experienced! He was very friendly, informative, and such a kind soul. The experience was kept at a good pace, and at a high quality. The lunch was delicious too. Highly recommended!

  Our guide was very good and the tasting activities were very appreciated by us. As for the boat on the Douro it was good but a little fresh for the season. I would have liked even more if the heat was there.

  Fabulous day , even when it's raining. Nuno was a fabulous host, very informative in every aspect of our trip. Good local info too
