Sigiriya or Sinhagiri is an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Matale District near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 metres high.
Dambulla Cave Temple
Dambulla is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which contain statues and paintings. These paintings and statues are related to Gautama Buddha and his life. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, three statues of Sri Lankan kings and four statues of gods and goddesses.

3.00Not particularly impressive. Sigariya was excellent, no problem here. The National Park Safari; potential customers should be aware that, incredulously, they do not take cards for payment, 26,000rs is not the sort of money most people carry in cash. The customer should, at the very least, be made aware that cash is required. In the event one of the officials drove us to an ATM where we had to queue in pouring rain to extricate the payment. Dambulla; If you are an afficinado of statues of the Buddha, then fine. Otherwise 2000rs (again no card payment) is a lot to pay-and you are required to pay for shoes to be stored. In short, the driver was excellent and helpful, but we did not particularly enjoy the day

5.00Our driver Fazeel made the trip very special. He told us a lot of stories about Sri Lanka, so we could get to know the country better. He always made sure we were fine and respected all of wishes to stop for food and drink or change the plan for the day a bit. We felt really relaxed and enjoyed the trip. On the Safari we were a little unlucky because we only saw one elefant from far. However we saw one before driving with fazeel on the road. Majestic creatures. The Pidurangula Rock is also very nice because you can see Sirigiya and the beautiful landscape. We also made a quick stop at dambulla, which is nice if you are into religión, culture, temples. Also nice view. Can recommend the trip - ask for Fazeel as a driver!!

5.00We went Sigiriya rock, Pidulangala rock, Furulu eco park and the herbal garden. All was awesome. And the restaurant the driver took us to was very good. Thank you!

5.00good guide. Obviously the „must“ natural spice garden stop can‘t be avoided. It’s clear they expect to buy items there. But the tour itself was good organized and very nice.
