- Upon your reservation, you will contact by our local operator and confirm the train time and seat class. - Receive the e-version of the ticket via email and Whatsapp - On arrival in the station, show your ticket on your phone to the ticket inspector - You will sit on reserved section of the train which assigned under your passport number - Enjoy the ride - Ride will end in Ella railway station Highly recommend you to reserve your tickets atleast 32 days ahead to get exactly what you prefer. If it is less than a month ahead, In case of unavailability of requested train time and class in higher demanding period, you will be given alternative train upon your confirmation.

This experience has been very stressful. We booked the train from Kandy to Ella and from the start it was very confusing. Leading up to the activity we were always notified that the tickets would come through the app but never did. Thankfully I double checked and found it in my emails. The provider also reminded me that he sent it via WhatsApp earlier but it was all very stressful trying to work it all out under pressure I’m a foreign country. After boarding we discovered that we had been given 2 seats in different parts of the carriage so we couldn’t sit together. Once again I contacted the provider and he said the seating doesn’t matter and we can sit together where we want (even after our tickets were checked nothing was said about us being in the wrong seats). After the train had started moving we had staff come to take our orders. We tried 6 times to place our order but when they came back they only had half the order and what we wanted was out of stock. We were also told that lunch was between 1:30-2:00pm but still no lunch and it is 3:15pm. When we got to Nanu-Oya we were kicked out of our seats because others had those on their tickets so then the stressful time of trying to find seats together again was a stressful time. The disorganisation for the train is beyond belief. The views on the train are magnificent though. It’s just a pity the stress is making it harder to enjoy.

The beautiful view in some places, the biggest problem was that the train tickets were sent at 2 am the day before telling us that the train booked (for early morning) 3 MONTHS BEFORE was full and that they would then send us the train tickets mid-morning. Having no other choice for the travel of the holiday we accepted the change. This train was scheduled at 11am, was an hour and a half late for departure and accumulated more throughout the route. We arrived at our destination (Ella) which was already dark and we missed the opportunity to visit her in the afternoon. Honestly, I would not recommend this experience in its entirety

The earlier train left 2hours late and not knowing this could happen, I got inside the wrong train. Viator sent me the right ticket train and communication was great, I just didj t understand why the train was leaving earlier than expected as I arrive earlier as they told me. Once you are the train station, confirm a thousans times before. It worked for the best. I arrived early at the destination . And only in Nuwara Eli someone else got in with her place where I was seating but I did not had to leave the train and switched places.

Better buy the tickets at the counter! You pay around 3€ per person. If the train is cancelled as with us you at least don't have to spend 40€. we had to take a tuk tuk to Ella for another 10$. Could have thrown the money out the window the same way.
