5.00My wife and I took the Aroma Alchemy: Gin Tasting Masterclass today and had a fantastic experience! We both like gin but have never done a deep dive into the subject. This class was fun, challenging, and had just the right amount of nerdy, detailed facts. Simran lead the tour and she has her Masters in Brewing and Distilling so she knows her stuff! Her presentations, as she lead us through the facility, were professional, interesting, and informative. It was so illuminating to learn about all of the botanicals used in gin making. Simran did a great job of listening to questions and giving thoughtful and compelling answers. Alice lead the Alchemy section in a well appointed classroom. We were challenged to identify some of the smells important to gin and it was hard! We got to sample four of the gins and they were thoughtfully paired with little bites. There was lots of smelling and tasting on this tour. The process forces you to slow down and really process the experience. The tour ended with two perks: a self-designed cocktail spritzer and a gin and tonic in the currently unopened rooftop bar and botanical garden. I would wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn more about gin and spend an hour and a half connecting to their senses.
