I (Captain Matt) along with my crew member take our guests out for an incredible experience on the waters in and around Sitka Sound viewing the breathtaking scenery and enjoying diverse wildlife encounters! You may see many if not all of the following wildlife, Humpback whales, Sea Lions, Sea Otters, Harbor Seals, Ravens, Bald eagles, shearwaters, cormorants, 2 types of puffins, and many other sea birds too numerous to mention.

Bears are regularly viewed in the late summer early fall, and occasionally viewed in the spring.

As I have had a long career commercial fishing in Southeast Alaska, I give unique insight into the local fishing industry. Both my crew and I will also enlighten you on local history and life in Sitka.

To ensure your experience is genuine, my crew is always either one of my family, or a local hire that truly knows Sitka. We live it year round!!

Cruise the waters of Beautiful Sitka Sound, and the outer coastline of Baranof Island viewing Sea Lions, Sea Otters, Harbor seals, Humpback Whales, possibly Orcas, Bald Eagles, and a vast variety of sea birds. Many times all in one tour.

We had an amazing time with Sea Piper Tours! Captain Matt was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the trip so much fun. Beautiful scenery, wildlife, and a super comfortable boat—definitely the highlight of our time in Sitka!

Matt is an excellent tour guide. He went well above and beyond to make sure he gave us a great experience. We saw whales, bear, otters, sea lions. I will definitely recommend Matt to anyone I know going to Sitka.

Nature rules. Don’t expect to see everything but captain Matt did a great job getting us around to try and we saw a lot of whales, sea lions and otters.

This was by far one of the best experiences of my life. Captain Matt was super nice and knew exactly where to go so we could see marine life. We got to see sea lions, seals, otters and whales. We had limited time and Captain Matt worked with us so we could do everything we wanted in a shortened time frame. He was super informative and made the trip special for our group. If I’m ever in Sitka again, I’m looking him up!

Matt was so awesome. The boat was very clean and I did not once get nauseous. This is a good thing! 🤭 Anywho, Matt was very informative and friendly. He answered all our questions with much knowledge of the area. Will be returning soon. Thank you Clinton and Mariah.

Captain Matt and Saphire were great hosts! We saw sea lions, seals, lots of birds and of course whales!! I enjoyed every second of this adventure!! The scenery was spectacular!!
