Medina of Fez
Our 3-day Fes to Marrakech desert tour starts by picking all the travelers from a meeting point in the Medina of Fes.
Ifrane
Our first destination will be Ifrane, also called the Switzerland of Morocco because of its gabled roof houses. We will stop here for a short walk. The city was established by the French administration in 1928 to escape from the heat of the Sahara desert.
Azrou Cedar Forest
After stopping in Ifrane, we will carry on driving across the Middle Atlas Mountains with a stop by the road in a Cedar forest, where we may get to see a monkey species native to the Atlas Mountains.
Aoufous
After having lunch in a restaurant somewhere along the way, we will continue our journey to Merzouga. On the way, we will stop for a panoramic view of an Oasis that is full of palm trees.
Merzouga
We will reach the Merzouga desert in the afternoon. Here, you will get to ride camels across huge sand dunes to your luxury desert camp. It will take you about an hour and 40 minutes of camel trekking. On the way, you will stop in a high dune to watch a peaceful sunset over Erg Chebbi dunes. You can also reach the camp by a 4x4 vehicle instead of riding camels (included in the price too!). Once you get to the camp, the staff will show you your private tents. After a delicious dinner, you can enjoy having a seat around a campfire while the staff is playing drums and singing some traditional Berber music. Enjoy watching a starry sky before getting to bed.

Merzouga
Today, waking up early for the sunrise is highly recommended to watch a glorious sunrise. After having a tasty breakfast in the camp, each one can choose between leaving the camp by camel again or by a 4x4 car. This morning, you can also choose to add another activity, which is quad biking or buggy driving (it is with an additional price). Please let your guide know at night if you are interested.
Souqs of Rissani
If today happens to be Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday, we will stop in Rissani to experience what a traditional Moroccan souk feels like. The souk is just three days a week. The city is also the foundation of the current ruling family of Morocco!
Todra Gorge
After exploring the ancient city of Rissani, we will drive to Todra Canyon, which is the deepest canyon in Morocco. It is over 300 meters high cliffs! We will have a walk under this amazing Canyon before driving to our last destination of the day.
Dades Gorges
We will arrive in Dades Gorges in the afternoon. First, we will drive to see some amazing rock formations known as monkey fingers. Then, drive to a place where there is a panoramic view of the Gorges.

After having a yummy breakfast at your hotel, we will drive to Ouarzazate passing by Kelaat Mgouna, which is known for roses! If your tour is running during springtime, we will stop in a valley that gets full of roses.
Ouarzazate
Ouarzazate is nicknamed the Holywood of Africa and the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Here, we will drive to see the Atlas Studio. It is the largest studio in the world, in terms of land area. Many films and TV series used the service of the studio, including Aladdin, Vikings, and Prison Break. You can take some pictures from outside, then drive to explore the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah. You can also choose to visit the studio from the inside. However, it will take you about an hour and a half, and also there is a ticket that you will have to pay (not included in the price!).
Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou
Our guide will escort you to visit this ancient Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou while explaining to you its interesting history. The fortified village is a great example of Moroccan architecture. It was once used as a caravanserai during the caravan routes that were crossing the great Sahara Desert. The Kasbah is featured in many famous films and TV series, including Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and many more.
High Atlas Mountains
After exploring the Kasbah, we will drive to Marrakech over the High Atlas Mountains. We will have some stops along the way for some breathtaking views.
Marrakech
We will reach Marrakech in the late afternoon. Drop you off at the closest point accessible by car to your Hotel/Riad. End of your Fes to Marrakech desert tour.

5.00The highlight of this trip was our tour guide. He was patient, and thoughtful. We asked a very wide range of questions from geology to industry to farming to history to current events. In all cases he gave well thought out answers. Many times he'd even chime in 30 minutes later with a better answer, showing he'd been thinking about the question and how to answer it better. I really appreciated that. As far as the sites we saw, I found the Sand dune / camping part to be pretty cheesy. That isn't bad so long as you are expecting cheesy and like it =) Also note there was plenty of food and drink at the camp site, which had not been communicated well. This site is built up with hundreds of tents spread over a few dozen "camps". The tents themselves are practically homes, as they have flooring, lighting, plumbing, even a shower (no hot water). The best part of this trip for me was just driving through the countryside, enjoying the views, and chatting with our guide.

5.00Awesome experience me and my friends did the 3 days from Fes to Marrakech had an amazing time the desert portion in particular with sunset and sunrise was spectacular. Big thank you to our driver Mohamed Boumeshoul. Not only was he great company but very informative and took us through all the sites very well and very caring for our comfort.

5.00Did a 3 day trip from Fez to Marrakesh. Unforgettable experience. The best way to travel such a unique and varied county. The desert camping was a true highlight. A special AMAZING shoutout to our driver, Mohamed Boumeshoul, who made the trip unforgettable. He invited us into his phone to meet his family, as well as being a safe and efficient driver who constantly had trivia to share as we made our way through the country. Could not recommend him, or the trip, enough!

5.00Our tour guide was Mustapha Hasnaoui, he was excellent. Honestly, we had the most incredible time. He was down to earth, knowledgeable and fun. He lived in one of the places we visited for 17 years and grew up in the desert, it really showed, we were treated by people and he authentically showed us things that he had connection to. Recommend him to anyone, honest and gentle - a breath of fresh air after bustling cities.

5.00It started with our driver Hassan picking me, my wife, daughter and 2 grandsons 8-10 up at our rehab in Fez. We stopped about every 1.5 to stretch our legs, coffee, pictures and whatever yew needed on our way to the dessert camp. Once at the dessert camp it was a smooth transition and Hassan was very clear what we would expect and time he would be back to pick us up. The camel’s, camp and staff were great. One thing to note (some of the luxury tents did not have hot water) burr. Hassan was waiting for us when we arrived the next morning and asked about our experience and if everything went well. He then explained what the itinerary would be for the day and we proceeded to Marrakesh. Was an amazing trip and even learned a few words in Arabic and barber. Even if you have children I would recommend taking them. Thank you.👍🏻👍🏻

5.00My boys and I had a wonderful time on this tour. Our driver Hassan Azeroual made us feel very welcomed and comfortable to ask for bathroom breaks and stops. Hassan was patient and kind to my children who are 8, 10 with a lot of energy. We only wish we would’ve stayed longer in the desert. I highly recommend this tour and our awesome driver!!! We plan coming back with more family after spring and will book again.

5.00We had a wonderful experience with Morocco Fabulous Travel but even more so with our driver Said. All communication with the company was clear and quick. We chose to do a private tour and Said picked us up and off we went! He was so warm and funny and the time in the car went by quickly. He was very knowledgeable and engaging. He was very accomodating to our needs for stopping and took plenty of pictures. Our accommodations arranged thru the company were both wonderful. Said kept us safe and even helped us find medical care in the desert when we had a situation arise. Great tour! I would say I read all the reviews that said to do the extra night in the desert and I wish we would have!

5.00We did the 3-day Fes to Marrakesh desert tour with Mustafa and it was all that we could have imagined and more. We got to see the incredible Moroccan landscapes, and at the same time learned so much about the culture through Mustafa. He was happy to answer any question we had, was super friendly and accommodating to our needs and communication was easy thanks to his great English. Everything was planned out very well, the accommodation at both nights were also great (we chose the basic accommodation for the private tour). We did the tour in November and it was the perfect time of year to avoid the heat, but still have beautiful sunny weather and blue skies. The overall experience was just perfect!

5.00We had an excellent trip from Fez to Marrakech over the Sahara desert and Atlas Mountains with our guide and driver Omar. The distances are quite large, so a lot of time was spend in the car, but the driving felt safe and aircondition was good. Plenty of stops for coffee and bathroom breaks. The night in Sahara was great with comfortable rooms and a beautiful view of the night sky. Day two was more of valleys and mountains with some great views and on day three we got to wander around the Kasbah which was quite good. Remember to look out the windows as you drive through the changing Moroccan terrain !
