  Just ok. Présentation felt rushed and mechanical. Not very enjoyable. Cooking part was fun but everything was way too spicy. Even those who love spice were struggling to eat.

  First of all, we drove around the area for 1.5 hours, even though the cooking class is 30 minutes away from Ubud. The seat belts in the car didn't work, which is bad. The AC wasn't good either and it was very cramped with 2 other people in the back seat. Then we got out at a rice field that wasn't even pretty - the driver said he was supposed to show us that. It wasn't in the description, nobody understood why we went there. When we finally got to the cooking class, it was better, it was quite interesting and the recipes were good and tasty. The welcome drink was pure sugar, you can expect something fresher from a cooking class provider. However, the whole thing seemed really rushed to me, you hardly had time to watch the cooking in peace. Plus, a lot of things were already prepared... so why the cooking class? I want to learn how everything is made. All in all, we only cooked for 3 hours and not 5 hours as promised. I don't understand why they put incorrect information in the description 🤷🏻‍♀️ in my opinion all the people were a bit "overly friendly", I was asked the same question several times just to keep the small talk going and distract from how unprofessional the car ride etc. was. Another point is that there are several cooking courses from the same provider that have the same content and time, but 1 course is €6 more expensive. I don't understand that either 🤷🏻‍♀️ Please improve your service.

  Recommend this cooking class, you will not come away hungry ! Huge range of recipes with the option to get these sent to you later. Great market tour, where you get to try some local produce. Interesting to learn about the rice paddy’s. Very well run class and get to meet lots of interesting people from other nations.

  We did a cooking class in Thailand last year which was one of the highlights of our trip so we decided to do another one this time in Ubud, Bali. Definitely do this one - the morning class - so you get to visit the market and learn about local fruits, vegetables and the spices you’ll be using in the cooking class. Although it was our second visit to the rice fields our guide provided some other informative information and was so friendly and patient with all of our questions. The cooking class consisted of preparing at least 6 different dishes and 1 dessert. We did some chopping and had a mortar/pestal workout to make the base mixture we made for cooking. We taste tested each of our individual recipes before combining them for the lunch buffet. The chef/guide was very informative and quizzed us along the way about what we were learning about the ingredients and recipes during the class. We had 2 groups of only 3 couples each which was nice. We’re good cooks! Great way to spend the morning with your significant other and learn about popular Indonesian/Bali cooking ingredients and recipes! A must do when in Ubud!!

  We had a wonderful morning with Wayan and his family, the market visit was so interesting and colourful and Wayan knew everybody. It was a really informative and hands-on cooking experience cooking in the outside kitchen, we made so many lovely dishes and came away with all the recipes. Wayan and his family could not have been more welcoming and hospitable, it was a really fun and enjoyable morning and our family of five all thoroughly enjoyed it. Thankyou!

  Such an amazing experience and a great insight into Bali food. We learnt about where the ingredients come from, saw the markets and the rice fields. The food was so tasty! Definitely recommend.

  Katut was a great teacher, my husband and I enjoyed visiting the market first to learn about all the ingredients that go into the dishes. Good to learn the various cooking techniques and all the dishes were delicious. Excellent day 😊

  It was a wonderful experience learning about Balinese ingredients and cooking process. The market tour was a joy. We got to try different kinds of fruit that’s not available in our country. Guste, our driver and guide, was very helpful and informative. Ketut (our teacher) was so charismatic and knowledgeable. The whole process was efficient. Best of all, we got to eat our own cooking!
