If you're looking for a more intimate experience, we offer this excursion on a Private basis as well (you can choose Shared or Private when you book). Note that our hotel pickup and dropoff is Private for both the Shared and Private excursions.

What To Expect

Note: This trip is offered on both a Private and Shared basis. For the Shared option, your hotel transfers are still private. Enjoy a stress-free day on one of the most beautiful islands in Mauritius, and let us take care of it all: private hotel pickup and dropoff, transport to and from Ile aux Cerfs, a barbecue lunch, and plenty of drinks. Our driver will pick you up at your hotel between 7:00am and 8:30am (depending on your hotel’s location) in order to depart for Ile aux Cerfs in a speedboat between 9:00am and 9:30am. After boarding, you will pass by the Grand River South East (GRSE) waterfall on your way to Ile aux Cerfs. You may be able to see the monkeys jumping through the trees on the river banks, and Mauritian fruit bats. After seeing the GRSE waterfall, you’ll head to Ilot Mangenie (next to Ile aux Cerfs) to enjoy a freshly prepared barbecue lunch of chicken, fish, salad and more. You’ll also be treated to drinks, including soft drinks, beer, wine and rum. After lunch, you’ll board the boat for a very short ride to Ile aux Cerfs where you will spend 3 or 4 hours relaxing, swimming, suntanning, hiking or doing one of the many activities offered on the island.

Was organised by a company called Tino boats. Overall, this activity is avoidable, they leave you at an island for 2 hours with people trying to hard sell activities to do. The lunch was fantastic, although we weren't served dessert. But the planning and communication from the tour providers side was horrible and we wanted a lot of time.

I could’ve skipped the Ile aux Cerfs tour as it didn’t live up to the hype. The beaches on the main island are so much nicer and the lagoon water isn't great for swimming. We kept getting pushed to try water sports, which got a bit annoying. Lunch was a letdown - just one sausage, a piece of chicken, and a small bit of fish, with no vegetables. I was still hungry afterward. That said, the driver was fantastic, punctual and really friendly.

A bit of a long journey for the transfer, but overall we had a great day out. The speed boat trip was fun and we got to see different parts of the island plus the waterfall. The drivers were friendly and informative and the BBQ was great with plenty of good food and drink.

The day was one of the highlights of our trip. Everything was well planned and executed. The driver picked us up on time, was very obliging and friendly. The boat driver was bo different. He made us very comfortable and catered to our needs. The food was excellent. Overall it was a tour well worth the money.
