Fall in love with the unique character of BA’s most iconic neighbourhoods: Recoleta, Retiro, City Center, San Telmo, & La Boca - WITH the option to personalise the tour to fit your preferences.

This 7 hour private tour allows you to get a local feel of the city & all its treasures at the pace of your choosing. While the majority the tour is walking, some public & private transportation is included, as well as breaks & snack time ;)

All guides are native English speakers currently living in Buenos Aires who love sharing their passion for the city with travellers.

This tour is run by 'To Be in Buenos Aires', owned & operated by a prairie girl from Western Canada whose Argentine journey all started years ago, so innocently, with tango...

I specialise in offering VIP, customize-able tours for travellers who want to experience first hand all the jewels of Buenos Aires & its surrounding areas.

The breath-taking sculptures in Recoleta Cemetery display the rich history of this beautiful country. Many of the most influential & controversial figures of Argentine history have their final resting place here, including its most famous first lady, Evita. Learn the secrets & stories behind the sculptures. You'll be taken to the most beautiful & often missed works in this private tour. This very historical cemetery is a ‘must see’. Tracy gave a very comprehensive tour of the neighborhoods and sites of Buenos Aires. She arranged airport pickups for us and suggested other options for us before our tour so we did not duplicate what we saw. She used a combo of walking, private driver and subway to get to the major neighborhoods. As she is originally Canadian we had no problem understanding her and she could explain cultural differences easily to us from the US. She has been in Buenos Aires for 8 years so navigated through the city easily. The time flew by as she delved into history and culture.
Walking tour around BA that is nothing short of excellent.

Tracey is a brilliant communicator and provides a fun and very informative tour of BA. Her passion for the city and its history and especially tango is clear to see. We highly recommend a tour with her.

We had an amazing day with Tracy on the full day walking tour. She has an incredible knowledge of the history and culture of Buenos Aires, and her passion for the city shines through. We covered a huge area but the combination of walking, a private driver and the subway made the day fly by. It was a fantastic introduction to this beautiful city, and by the end of the day we felt like we'd made a local friend. We can't recommend this tour highly enough!

Tracy is an absolute delight and a perfect person to take you around and teach you about Buenos Aires. While she is not a native Argentinian, she clearly has studied the land and its history to allow her to know more about the city and country than most who were born and raised there. Tracy was generous with her time before we left home to help us not only create a custom tour for our day with her, but also for where to go and what to see on our other days in the city. She clearly loves not only her adopted home, but also has an unbridled passion for communicating that love to those she guides. The fact that Tracy is bilingual certainly enhances the touring experience, making her the perfect guide for anyone whose primary language is English and whose ability to speak Spanish may be limited (at best). Thanks again, Tracy!

Look up "Tracy Stafford - To Be in Buenos Aires" on FB. Tracy = fabulous! She is a private guide, dances tango, originally Canadian thus easily understandable English, has a masterful understanding of BA & Argentinean history, culture, and government, and is extremely responsive via WhatsApp or messaging both prior to, during, and following our fantastic day with her. We did a 7 hour walking tour with Tracy, and it was perfection from hotel pickup and drop-off to hitting all the highlights of Buenos Aires, to helping us exchange 'blue dollar' money, to a delicious traditional lunch, to a trip on the subway, to adjusting our tour to catch the changing of the guards, to a wonderful explanation of tango dancing culture, to loving Boca, to her driver Renzo who 3 weeks later transfered us from one airport to another in BA. That 2 hour transfer with Renzo ended in hugs. Tracy and Renzo are a fabulous team and will make you absolutely fall in love with their city! Following our return to our hotel, we thoroughly enjoyed our perfect BA day with a fantastic tango show which we would recommend experimenting while in BA. My husband and I also watched 'Evita' the evening before we left for Argentina which made our time in BA, at Evita's tomb in the Recoleta Cemetery, and seeing the Casa Rosada even more exciting and fun. Enjoy BA...we had one day in BA and it could not have been better! (I had discovered Tracy via Trip Advisor reviews...and she did not disappoint.)

Tracy was amazing, knowledgable and flexible to our wishes. We had a great day and we thoroughly enjoyed her company. She’s an expat Canadian so her English is perfect. Besides hitting the historical areas we went off the beaten path to experience both the local flavor as well as the sophisticated side of BA. Highly recommend her!

If you want to truly experience Buenos Aires, seek out Tracy. Her guidance transforms a simple tour into a vibrant immersion. She possesses that rare combination of perfect English and a deep, lived-in understanding of the city. We experienced this firsthand. Imagine wandering Recoleta Cemetery, where Tracy doesn't just point out tombs, but weaves stories of the figures within, perhaps even a whisper of a tango dancer's tragic end. Then, picture crossing the Puente de la Mujer (Women's Bridge), with Tracy highlighting its modern elegance, drawing parallels to the fluid grace of a tango embrace. A trip to La Boca with Tracy is a burst of color and energy. She navigates the Caminito's vibrant streets, explaining the area's history and its strong ties to tango's passionate roots. Throughout our time with her, Tracy peppered her narratives with fascinating tango anecdotes, bringing the city's soul to life. She made sure that our experience was unique, and that we did not re-visit sites that we had already seen. If you want a tour guide that goes above and beyond, Tracy is the perfect choice.

This full day walking tour with Tracy was absolutely amazing! She was so friendly and knowledgeable. The scenery was beautiful, the food was delicious and we learned so much about the history and architecture of this amazing city of Buenos Aires. The tour was tailored to exactly what we wanted. Tracy was an amazing guide, the best we have ever had in any city. Her knowledge of Argentina’s history, great sense of humor and fun personal stories all made for a terrific day in BA. She was super accommodating to our schedule and even helped us navigate our neighborhood. What a great way to start off our month in BA.
