Taormina and Castelmola tour with Greek Theater will let you experience the history of one of the Sicilian Greek colonies and its astonishing ancient Theatre, used as a film set for many movies and TV series, such as the recent White Lotus Sicily show.
The tour starts with a visit to Castelmola Sicily a picturesque village situated just above Taormina, the perfect place to enjoy a beautiful setting and a wonderful outlook over the magnificent bay of Giardini Naxos and Mount Etna rising in the distance.
Then our journey continues with a Taormina walking tour, seeing the Aragonese-style Porta Catania and Corso Umberto, once part of the ancient Roman street Via Valeria.

Walking in Taormina is over paved and cobblestone surfaces, some of which are sloped. The Greek Theater requires climbing steep uneven stone stairs to enter and numerous steps inside.

1.00Messina hasn't been delivered at all. Taormina amphitheatre is under reconstruction and scaffolding is everywhere, not worth a visit but they still sell tickets. That should be communicated before the tour. The tour should be cancelled due to weather conditions: pouring rain all day. Confusion about meeting point which hasn't been communicated clearly.

5.00This was a great private excursion off of the cruise ship. We were picked up the cruise terminal as planned and on time. Our guide Katia and driver Peppe were very friendly and we started our journey to Castleloma. We knew at the start of the day that rain was imminent and throughout the day they were to receive about 2” of rain. We were prepared for it and so was Katia and she provided full size umbrellas for our group of four. Casteloma was stunning, but heavy fog severely limited visibility which was a shame. We proceeded to Taormina and toured the area including the Greek/Roman theater. We had a 20 minute break in the weather while at the theater and ended up with some good pictures. After leaving Taormina we arrived back at the ship in plenty of time before departure. Katia and Peppe were fantastic and we would highly recommend this tour!
Sofia our guide was EXCELLENT but Taormina was boring, hi-light were the cannolis

4.00The cannolis at Laboratorio Pasticceria Roberto Chemi were very delicious, the Greek-Roman amphitheater was very cool. Sofia was very good and kept good track of her group. If they spent less time in Taormina this tour would be better.

5.00We had the best time on this tour! Our tour guide, Sara, was so friendly and so knowledgeable, I could listen to her talk for hours. We loved visiting Castelmola and Taormina. We even added a quick stop to see the astronomical clock in the town square which was really cool. She gave us a great tour of Taormina and even gave us a list of places/foods that we had to try while we were in Messina. I would 10000% book another tour with Sara again!
