St. George's Church

First, stop at Madaba city, often called the ‘City of Mosaics’. Madaba owes its popularity to a lavish mosaic map of the Holy Land that covers the floor of St George’s Church, and you'll step inside the church to see it. This relatively modest 19th-century Greek Orthodox church houses a treasure of early Christianity. Imagine the excitement in 1884 when Christian builders came across the remnants of a Byzantine church on their construction site. Among the rubble, having survived willful destruction, fire, and neglect, the flooring they discovered wasn’t just another mosaic but one with extraordinary significance: to this day, it represents the oldest map of Palestine in existence and provides many historical insights into the region.

We had a really great day trip to the Dead Sea and the religious sites nearby! Our guide, Mr. Mint, was excellent - informative, friendly, funny. Floating in the Dead Sea is really incredible - even in the winter, the air temp was pleasant and the water temp was warm. I would definitely recommend this tour!

Our driver Adnan was extremely friendly and patient and he was very helpful when we asked him for something. The atmosphere in the car was great, I would recommend it to anyone who wants a stress-free service in Jordan!

Very, very nice and relaxed day trip to Madaba, Mount Nebo and the Dead Sea. I had enough time to explore everything and enjoyed the day very much. Bardaghawi is a very reliable and pleasant driver and has given me super much information about country and people. I was traveling alone and despite the tense situation in neighboring countries I felt very safe (as everywhere in Jordan). Clear recommendation!

The tour was fantastic! Driver Shadi not only showed me around, but tell a lot of historical interesting facts, brought me to some nice places extra, with him i felt comfort and really enjoyed the trip! We visited mount Nebo, he brought me to Wadi Mujib canyon, and then he brought me to the dead sea! Thank you so much, I definitely will come back!

I took two day trips with my excellent driver Yuones in a modern air-conditioned hybrid. The first tour was to Petra and Wadi Rum which was a long 14 1/2 hour day and well worth it. My driver kindly organised a last minute private tour guide at Petra (Jibril, who was amazing) and an unforgettable Jeep ride in the Wadi Run desert. The second was to Mount Nebo, Madaba and The Dead Sea where I floated in the salty water and had a nice lunch in the resort. I had an amazing experience all around. Yuones was always on time, quick to communicate, took great care of me and provided me with snacks, water, coffee etc and little tidbits about Jordan. The trips represented excellent value for money. I went solo but this would be suitable for couples and families as well. I have no hesitation whatsoever to recommend these day trips from Amman.
