Cawdor Castle
As you step inside these ancient walls, you’ll be guided on an enchanting audio journey through the castle’s long and storied past, which reaches back to at least 1454. Each room whispers of centuries gone by — from the elegance of the 16th-century portrait gallery in the drawing room, to the warmth and richness of 17th-century Flemish tapestries adorning a bedroom once fit for nobility. Fine art, antique treasures, and the tales they carry await you at every turn, inviting you to linger a little longer. After the tour, you’ll have time to explore the varied gardens at your own pace. There are also two gift shops and a café on-site. For WOW guests, the café offers a convenient packed or boxed lunch option, which we recommend if you’d like something to take away for later in the day. Entrance and an audio guide to Cawdor Castle is included in the tour price.
Culloden Battlefield
Our next stop is at Culloden Battlefield, one of the most important battlefields in the UK. Here, your guide will bring the landscape to life on a 30-minute walking tour, as he enthralls you with the story of the last pitched battle on British soil; the Jacobite uprising of 1746. As you stand upon the windswept moor, it’s easy to imagine the bravery, sacrifice, and heartbreak that unfolded here, with echoes of the past lingering in the stillness. The haunting beauty of the landscape, combined with its tragic history, creates a deeply moving experience that will stay with you long after you leave.

5.00We had an excellent day from Invergordon. It was filled with diverse tours. I especially want to thank our guide Andrew who kept us in suspense all day with his stories. Among other things, this gave a whole new dimension to our visits to the Culloden battlefield and the prehistoric Clava cairns site. By the way, he should make audiobooks, because he has such a beautiful voice. I highly recommend a visit with them.

5.00Andrew did an amazing job taking us to all the sites. Very informative and engaging. We were a group of 10, and he drove the smaller bus so group wasn’t too big. Itinerary was perfect too!

5.00An easy 6 on a scale of 1-5. The tour gave us great insight into the history of Scotland and in particular the Inverness area. The tour guide (Murdoch) was maybe the best guide we have ever encountered in our many travels. Extremely knowledgeable and entertaining at the same time. Left us wanting more at the end of the day. Tremendous story teller. 100% recommend this tour with WOW tours if the opportunity arises.

5.00We are on the Regal Princess cruise ship and took this excursion yesterday. We had a wonderful time with our guide, Murdoch! He was friendly, fun and very informative. We visited so many different places and feel like we got a great sample of Inverness and the Scottish Highlands! Highly recommend this tour!! Small group tour at 1/2 the price of what the cruise line charges for their excursions.

5.00On a Princess cruise. This day trip was great. Our guide was Murdock who works for this small family owned business. Modern bus with ac and usb ports. Murdock was very entertaining, extremely helpful, and accommodating. He provided historical information that helped bring meaning to the various stops. Not a typical drop iff and explore on your own, he actually went onto the battlefield and cairns to provide information and answer questions. At castle and Loch Ness he was around to support as needed. In Inverness, he provided personal recommendations but stayed with the bus. Great tour, great price. As our first time to Scotland, this was a great excursion!

5.00This is the most wonderful company with the most wonderful guides!! You will love this adventure, I promise! Andrew was amazing. He had so much knowledge to share and wonderful stories to tell and jokes to make. He was so fun and caring and interactive. He will also surprise you with lots of "extras". By far, this was the BEST tour I've ever taken!!
