Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew)
The glittering Grand Palace in Bangkok is an architectural wonder that was once home to the kings of the Chakri Dynasty. A visit to the ornate and historic Grand Palace, and the adjacent Temple of the Emerald Buddha, is a highlight of any visit to the Kingdom. The palace was built in 1782 by the Rama I, the first king of the Chakri Dynasty, when he moved the capital of what was then known as the Kingdom of Siam from Thonburi on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River to Bangkok on the east bank. For 150 years the palace was the home of the Thai King. Today, the complex remains the spiritual heart of the Thai Kingdom.

Great tour with a lot of good historical information. Our guide Ken was able to squeeze in everything we wanted within a good time frame. Although we went during a busy time, we we're able to navigate around with the amount of tourists visiting. Very flexible as well and was able to switch around the itinerary as needed.

Paula was an energetic and knowledgeable guide. She enlightened us about each temple and gave us opportunities to share and answer questions. Rain delayed us so she extended the trip so we could get everything we needed. Best in Bangkok

I really enjoyed this visit as Sunday (yes it’s his actual name) was really informative and knowledgeable. Loved the fact that water and snacks were provided. Would have to have had time to go in the Grand palace but loved the tiny emerald Buddha and the fabrics museum.

Great tour of the Grand Palace and nearby temples with our guide, Ken! He really looked out for our group in the hot Thailand heat. He provided water bottles, stopping at refill stations, and always finding shaded spots while he explained the history of the palace and temples. Ken also brought visuals and shared lots of interesting facts. Overall, an excellent experience. Bring comfortable walking shoes and shoulders must be covered in the Grand Palace and temples. (Also no shorts)

Pro: The guide (Nicky) was incredible, very kind, and knowledgeable! We couldn't imagine doing these places on our own! Con: There was more walking than we expected and with the heat warning and large crowds it was pretty exhausting.
