On this half day tour you will learn a lot about the fascinating history of South Africa during a Pretoria city experience. Pretoria is the capital of South Africa and therefore full of historic sites.
The Voortrekker Monument
A major attraction on this tour is the Voortrekker Monument. This monument is of great significance to many Afrikaans speaking South Africans, there it stands for Afrikaner Nationalism. The monument is in the shape of a big stone cube. The interior walls depict the story of the Great Trek, a mass movement of Afrikaaner Boers who resented British rule.

He was very engaging right from the start and entertained us with his knowledge of not only the sites we visited, but also local history, culture and customs, and languages. It was a fantastic introduction on our first day ever in South Africa and we were very happy we did this tour. Thanks for a great tour!

5.00Thomas provided a 10 out of 10 tour of Tshwane (Pretoria). He gave an excellent overview of the history of White Settler Colonialism and how it ties in to what's happening in present day South Africa. He even cleared up some historical misperceptions. If I ever return to Johannesburg and want to visit Tshwane again, I'll definitely look up Thomas.
