The Historic Halifax by Foot tour provides visitors an opportunity to sample the history, architecture and hospitality the city has to offer. Your local guide will lead you on a comfortable paced tour through the downtown area, with multiple stops at various locations for photos and conversation. With a small group size, guests will be able to enjoy a more personal tour.

With your local guide, enter the Oldest Victorian Gardens in Canada, through the main gates. Inside the Gardens your guide will explain the history and monuments found inside. Free time will also be provided to explore on your known.

The Old Burying Ground is Halifax's oldest cemetery, founded in 1749. Your route will take you by the site featuring restored headstones, the only Crimean War memorial in North America and interesting tales of those laid to rest.

Definitely worth your time! Very fun, and the guide was very informative. You see a lot of the city landmarks and learn a lot about Halifax history. We only had a few hours in the city as a cruise port, and it felt like a good use of it.

Victor was quite knowledgeable about Halifax history. The tour also oriented us to the city. It was a two and a half walking tour but it wasn't taxing and went very quickly.
A Race through the City/Waste of Money

The description clearly states that we needed to be physically fitted enough to walk for this 2 1/2 hour guided tour. My husband and had taken two guided tours by foot earlier on our trip, and they were great. This tour, however, was a "race to get done." Our guide, Chris, took a 2 1/2 hour tour and made it 2 hours, uphill from the get go. There were stops for a minute or two. We asked him to slow down, and he did, a little. I don't understand why we went straight up. When we were coming back we through other streets which would of lessened the straight up. Also, it was hard to take pictures because Chris was off again. The tour started at 9:45 and we were done by 11:50. We walked all over Europe earlier this year, we can walk, but this was not a walk. This was a waste of money.
