Hai Van Pass
Begin your journey to Hue, traveling along the northern coast of Da Nang and making a stop at the top of Hai Van Pass to explore the remnants of war bunkers.
Hue Imperial City (The Citadel)
Upon arrival in Hue, we will visit the Citadel, the city's prime attraction, which encompasses the Imperial City, the Forbidden Purple City, and the Emperor's Private Residence. Built from 1804 to 1833 during the Nguyen Dynasty - the last feudal kingdom in Vietnam - the Citadel is fortified by 2-kilometer ramparts and surrounded by a tranquil moat. Inside the Citadel, you can explore a variety of structures, including the Imperial City Gates, the Purple Forbidden City, as well as temples, pavilions, and beautifully landscaped gardens. Great day visiting the heritage sites in Hue. Boat trip on the river was pleasant but nothing special. Very informative guide although we struggled to understand him at times as his English wasn't that great but he certainly tried and he was very knowledgeable. The Palace and tomb were very interesting.

Transportation was timely and comfortable, but the tour guide was terrible. We received very little information about the place we were going or the itinerary since he didn't talk much while on bus on the way to Hue or once we got there: total of perhaps less than 30 minutes all day for the 12 hours trip. He told us he was 77 years old and he had hearing problem. Combined with his poor English, it was hard to communicate with him and understand what he said. We had to tap on his shoulder to ask him questions each time to avoid yelling at him. He had no time schedule to follow for the tour and told us we would move to the next place whenever the last person was done and came back to the bus. Consequently, we were late to the restaurant for our lunch and had to wait for our food to be the last group to finish the lunch around 3pm, and cut short on the afternoon visits. It was the most disappointing tour experience for us, especially after reading previous reviews about other good tour guides for this tour.

Nice to stop by hai-can pass. The trip is quite rush, only touch-and-go, not recommended for those who wish to spend more time on the visit places. Tour guide did not explain much on the sites as well and english command is not very good, just for basic communications.

Tour guide was great. I was born in Vietnam but had left the country over 30 years ago. He gave me great history and information about Vietnam that I don't know. Thanks it was a beautiful day despite the fact it was raining but it worth it

Great tour of the palace. Long drive and hot but well worth it. Very informative. The pagoda and the Emporers burial site was also good.
Our guide was very knowledgable and spoke very good English. A very friendly person.
The meal at the restaurant was first class as was the service.
The driver was also accomodating and was prepared to stop if you wished to take photos. He also did a nice tour of Danang as an extra.
Value for money and highly recommended, especially for history of which I know very little of.
Ray and Barb.
