From first meeting Seiji and Azumi they were very acommodating and friendly. We were there half an hour early, but they offered us to wait in the classroom with a warm cup of tea. (in February / approx. 0°C) Before class even started, the conversation with them was fun and we got to learn a lot about cooking and knives even before class. Seiji even introduced his AI translating tool beforehand. Which worked very well and almost translated every sentence he said in real time. When class started he very thoroughly explained every step and ingredient with splashes of humor. Azumi and Seiji were very supportive in our cooking endevours and always had tips ready when needed. Both hosts had a great sense of humor and engaged in jokes with us. When eating the food you could taste the passion they poured into preparation of the dashi and the ingredients themselves. I would 100% recommend their class and will be booking a class again the next time we visit japan. They may be offering a gyoza and ramen course soon.

We absolutely loved our experience! The most memorable part was making the sushi with the best fish we had ever tasted. Seji really teaches well and explains every part of the process. We learnt some dishes local to Kanazawa that were absolutely delicious.

It was a total of 4 people for the class that I’ve signed up, and I felt the experience was better since it’s a small group. Chef is super nice, funny, encouraging! He taught 5 recipes for the class, and even gave us the recipes so that we can go back home to try it on our own! He gave a certificate which made the experience felt so good 😂 definitely encourage yall to try it out here!!!

Our family of 5 thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas Day cooking class! AMAZING class! We will try a cooking class whenever we travel and this is definitely one of the best. The chef is personable and knowledgeable. Everyone participates, and the food turned out fantastic. We’ve been making sushi rolls for years and We all learned a lot from this class particularly what makes quality nigiri. Thanks for a great meal and the entertaining education!

Sensei (teacher) was very engaging and entertaining. The whole experience was aided by a translation software which added to the humor of the conversation. The dishes that he taught were basic but were still noteworthy. It's a true immersion into Japanese food without feeling overwhelmed or challenged. There was also a good immersion into the history, the background, and the practices behind the cuisine. One of the best experiences you can do while in Japan.

We had a fabulous time cooking with Chef Seiji! Our family of four very much enjoyed learning about Japanese cooking, preparing the dishes with Chef Seiji’s guidance and eating the dishes at the end of the class. Chef Seiji was an excellent instructor - calm and patient with children and adults, with a great sense of humour. The AI translation app he uses is excellent - quick and accurate translations kept the lesson and the conversation flowing. The lesson was excellent value for money. The cooking school is conveniently located a few minute's walk from Kanazawa station. We would absolutely recommend this class to anyone. If we make another trip to Kanazawa we will do another class here… Chef Seiji is starting a ramen and gyoza class next year.

Excellent evening. Entertaining and educational. Learnt a lot about what makes good sushi, cooking techniques, and eating traditions. Clever use of technology to communicate in 3 different languages at once. Husband had to cancel last minute as unwell but he loves his small gift and uses it all the time. Knives from here are very special.
