Warm weather all year round. Light-weight jumper/jacket for speedboat ride to Ballestas. Closed-toe footwear for Sandboarding.

The bus will arrive back in Lima, at JW Marriott at around 11:30 pm
The tour runs with slight adjustments during the following holidays: Easter weekend (April 17-20) and Peru's Independence Day celebrations (July 25-28). The pick-up time will be 1 hour before the usual time

What To Expect
Miraflores
Meet the bus OPPOSITE the JW Marriott hotel, Malecon de la Reserva 615, Miraflores. Please wait near the small information kiosk. Make sure to be there by 5:45 am. The bus departs at 6:00 am.
Islas Ballestas
Go on the 2-hour boat tour of the islands, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. The Ballestas are a smaller version of the Galapagos and are just as great. You’ll see sea lions, penguins, and lots of birds all in their natural habitat. If you’re lucky, you may even see a dolphin or three!

5.00This is an all-day affair with pickup around 0600h and drop-off close to 2345h. I would recommend bringing some light breakfast and water since you are on the bus for about 3 or 4 hours before stopping. The bus had USB-A charging ports but it may also be good to bring a portable bank just in case. Other than that I would say have fun. Our guide Jirack was super helpful and kept us informed every step of the way. The first stop was Paracas Islands, it may get cold on the water so bring a light jacket. The recommended lunch buffet (not included in price) was delicious with quick service. The next stop was to Huacachina and it as really fun to sand board and go on a sand buggy. There is usually time after that to explore the town. I would recommend grabbing a bite to eat at a local shop as once you get on the bus, it’s straight back to Lima. We got back on time and for that I appreciate. I highly recommend this tour!
Skip Paracas, but take Huacachina Oasis tour!

4.00If at all possible, I would SKIP Paracas. I felt like a refugee going to the Ballestas Island to see "sea lions, penguins, and lots of birds all in their natural habitat." We saw 3 sea lions and one penguin and lots of bird doo-doo. LOL Obviously, it's a hit or miss on the sea lions penguins. The buggy and sandboarding was FUN - you don't want to miss this! Lunch and dinner was included so it wasn't bad.

5.00Great trip with lots of activities! The boat tour was informative and fun, the lunch was good and in a beautiful location, and the desert at sunset was incredible. There is an early start time and late return, but you can sleep on the long bus ride. The dune buggies were also super fun, but be prepared for some bumps and bruises. This daytrip is such a great sneak peak into what Paracas and Huacachina have to offer - I fully plan to return to Huacachina for a longer period of time!

5.00This tour was stunning! The Paracas were beautiful and the desert was unbelievable. We upgraded to the 2 hours of the sand buggy (10 USD) and it was definitely worth it. Definitely do this since you can see the desert sands properly. We also upgraded to pickup and drop off at our place (10USD/PP) which probably wasn’t needed since Ubers are very accessible in Lima and cheap. The buffet lunch was surprisingly really good with lots of options! This experience was definitely worth it, beautiful and such an adrenaline rush!

3.00The tour was good. But the logistics of the tour operator is not. The bus serves as a pick up bus. The process of counting, identifying other passengers who are boarding is chaotic. Further, we were turned over to other operators at Paracas and Huacachina. So there was no continuity. With better coordination the trip could have been shorter by 2 hours.
