This tour starts at 10am next to El Retiro Park. This is the starting point to the exploration of an area known as Landscape of Light. This neighborhood was listed in 2020 as UNESCO World Heritage thanks to its unique artistic and cultural assets.
After strolling through El Retiro and spotting highlights like Puerta de Alcalá and the Cibeles fountain, you will explore the masterpieces of the Prado Museum with your guide, like Velázquez’s Meninas, El Bosco’s Garden of Delights and Goya’s Black Paintings. Next is some free-time to have lunch. Your guide will give you some tips to find good, local food options.
After lunch, you’ll meet your guide again to visit together the old town of Madrid and hear about the Habsburg dynasty, the monarchs that brought splendor to the Spanish capital. At the end of this itinerary, which includes landmarks like Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor, you will discover the interior of the Royal Palace of Madrid at your own pace with a fast track ticket.

Julian was a wonderful guide. His English was very good and he was very conversational with lots of information. Our only downer was that our tickets included admission to the palace but they abruptly closed it before our tour due to a ceremonial event.

Parc de Madrid was gorgeous and it was a very peaceful way to start our tour with Julian. Julian is a remarkable young man. He is very knowledgeable, intelligent and kind. We enjoyed his tour very much

The tour was good and we were able to experience three important landmarks of Madrid. Our guide was a college student and was very friendly and knowledgeable. There are a few things to keep in mind before deciding to buy this tour - 1. This is a pure walking tour. You are responsible for reaching two meeting points, one in the morning and one in the afternoon by yourself. 2.The guide does not go with you inside the Prado Museum or the Royal Palace. They buy you the “Audio Guides” as part of the package. You basically take a self guided tour of these two places. We observed other tours in the Royal Palace with a professional guide inside the Palace. 2. The schedule is a little messed up. The guide leaves you at the entrance of the Prado museum and gives you two hours to see the museum, eat lunch and get to a meeting point that is 30 minutes walk or 15 minutes taxi ride. Our guide was sweet enough to wait for us, when we could not get to the second meeting point on time. With little bit of research, you can buy the Prado Museum and Royal Palace tickets yourself from their websites and use readily available Taxis to reach the destinations.
