Our first stop of the day is at one of the most scenic and historic places in all of O'ahu. Learn the story about how King Kamehameha united all of the Hawaiian Islands under one monarchy as we visit the very spot where a famous battle took place.
The Byodo-in Temple Hawaii
As we drive along the Ko'olau mountain range we stop to discover a hidden gem tucked away from the main road. Byodo-In Temple was featured by National Geographic in "20 of the world's most beautiful Buddhist temples," noting its architectural details and awe inspiring surroundings.

5.00The driver Keoki was very informative, kept us entertained and laughing the whole trip. Dependent on your need for water and snacks in between stops. There are a several stops where you can buy drinks and snacks. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

5.00Big Jon was a great guide! He was friendly and personable, knowledgeable and humorous. He managed the group beautifully and kept things running smoothly and on schedule. In addition to seeing all of the beautiful sights on the itinerary, we learned a lot about Hawaiian history, culture, and lifestyle from Jon along the way. The special treat he bought for us at a roadside stand was delicious! In addition to his masterful handling of the whole-group dynamic, Jon made my husband and me feel seen and valued as individuals. When he learned that we were going directly on to a luau after the tour, he dropped us off as close to the luau venue as he could. That was truly above and beyond! I definitely recommend this tour (the waterfall swim in particular was fantastic) and you will be extra lucky if you get Jon as your guide.
