5.00Taormina was busy but beautiful, with lots of things to see and buy. Castelmola was small and quiet, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view. The mix of both towns made this day unforgettable.

2.00We enjoyed the 2 locations as the views were beautiful. My complaint was that the tour operator wasn’t able to share his knowledge with the rest of the people on the tour. He was excellent in answering our questions one on one but we felt he was soft spoken and everyone in the group could not hear him. Headsets would have been very helpful . I would have preferred to hear about the history and cultures of Sicily . Half our trip was free time which to me was excessive. 2 hour bus trip and 3 hour free time affected our experience of Sicily . I feel we overpaid for this tour.

4.00The tour was ok. The tour guide was lovely, but will get better with experience. A nice amount of time to wander around and get pictures. He had some good quirky facts, and was happy to answer any questions.

5.00Our guide Carmine and the driver were very informative and answered all the questions extremely patient but yet very knowledgeable. They were cognizant of some physical limitations and made certain we did not miss anything on this tour. In fact he did such a wonderful job of going through shops to get samples and eased with a treat of granita and brioche. I cannot say enough nice things about this tour. The driver was extremely safe and I would recommend this to anybody.

4.00A good tour stopping at Castelmola and driving the windy roads to Taormina. the driver and tour escort were both very personable and we loved the areas we explored. BUT despite everyone on the bus querying the time we were to leave Taormina and asking to leave earlier, the tour did not depart back until too late, and caused considerable stress on the return journey that we would not be back in time for the cruise ship departure. Final boarding was 3.30 and we only drove in to the port at 3.29. There was still a 5-10 min walk to go through security and board. The only saving grace was the cruise lines own tour also arrived at the same time and they waited for them. I did not find this acceptable and stress that anyone doing this tour (supposedly guarantee back to port on time) make sure they have assurances on time prior to departure.

5.00Our Guide Anna was excellent, very knowledgeable about the area and Sicily as a whole. She was very friendly and personable. The areas we saw were very beautiful and we had a nice mix of tour time and free time.

3.00This tour got off to a very bad start! The guide texted us to say she was at gate 5 at 8:15 but she arrived about 8:35 am! We were ready to go. The original paperwork said it started at 9:30am but we got an update the day before stating 9:00am. There were 6 in our party and the other 4 didn’t arrive until 9:20 am. Viator needs to stick with the info originally provided as everyone does not pay for internet in a foreign country and can’t get updates. Once in the van the driver tried to strap a large speaker (small boombox) on the back of a headrest and it would have blasted my hubby in the face had it worked. However, it kept saying “needs charging” so could not be used! We were not happy with how this started. The guide was good but seemed to keep rushing us along at each stop. For instance, we wanted to get some drink, snack, souvenir at the Godfather shooting location but did not have a chance. We finally were given 2 hours at the last stop to eat and shop. On other small excursions we have been on, especially in the Caribbean, the van has a cooler of bottled water available for free. I would think Viator could have guides provide this with the price we are paying! Overall we saw what we wanted to see and guide was good at explaining sites. It is a good tour but needs better execution.
