Hornblower Cruises is a local family run business since 1984. This tour is fantastic for those who would like to explore the two islands of the north in one day. Departure from Bugibba towards the island of Comino where you stop for 1.5 hours to snorkel, swim and take pictures of the crystal clear waters of the Blue Lagoon then cruise to the island of Gozo where you will stop for 3 hours. On Gozo you can take the mini bus/ coach tour for 5euro per person. Please let us know upon booking whether you would like to do the tour.

For wheelchairs please note that the toilets are situated on the lower deck. You are welcome with the wheelchair on the boat but there are 5 stairs going up to the main deck and 5 steps to access the lower deck.

St. Paul's Bay
Departing from St. Pauls Bay we cruise the north coast of Malta showing you all the sites, such as: St. Pauls Islands and the statue of St. Pauls, entering into Ahrax Cave. We continue cruising through the north channel of Comino where we cruise by: the elephants head, enter into Santa Maria cave, Santa Maria bay, St. Nicholas bay and the Comino hotel. After approximately an hour we arrive on Comino island in the famous Blue Lagoon. The boat moors up to the island where we stop for 1 hour and 30 minutes. During the time in the Blue Lagoon you can use all the facilities of the boat whilst being able to walk on and off to the island. The boats facilities include: top sunbathing deck with free deck chairs (first come first serve), main deck including shaded and sunny seats, lower air conditioned deck, toilet facilities (male and female), locker facilities (limited number), cafeteria including hot and cold beverages (food and drinks are not included in the price).

Upon departure we cruise by our first site that of St. Paul's island. Here, as stated by the bible, is where he was shipwrecked in 60A.D we now find an 8.3 meter high statue.

1.00I have rated this experience a 1 purely down to the terrible condition of the transport on Gozo - vehicle reg APY 159 is absolutely horrible, dirty and smelly. There was rotten fruit on the ledge, rubbish, looks like the bus has not been cleaned since it was commissioned. The driver was eratic, he said we had to be back by 5.15 as he would leave without us at 5.20 - never turned until 5.30 after everyone else had gone. The company really needs to review the use of the bus.

5.001st time in Malta. 3 nights and stayed in Rabat. Lovely place will defo visit again. Very friendly locals . Beautiful everywhere you look .

5.00Absolutely loved it ! Went towards the end of the season but you can still swim and the scenery is just beautiful especially if you love taking pictures !! Highly recommended booking this as an excursion when visiting Malta.

4.00Gozo is definitely worth visiting , Comino and the blue lagoon are ok but the island is not disabled friendly at all. The weather can be varying at sea so take a jumper in the out of season months.

4.00We had such a good time on this trip - even in November it was awesome, and we still got to swim in the Blue Lagoon. I just wish the Gozo part was organised a bit better, since we basically got dropped off and given free time. But overall it was a really relaxed, fun 7 hours, and the staff were super friendly.

5.00I booked my trip the night before as a last minute because the weather was so good and didn’t want to miss seeing Comino and Gozo. I’m so happy I did! Just to note- all the information is on the booking page you just need to click on so anyone who says they weren’t aware of chargeable extras didn’t click the important information! I paid €5 for the bus on Gozo and €15 for the speedboat which were totally worth it. The captain or Hornblower has an exceptional playlist and knows a lot about the surrounding coastal areas. The staff are all friendly and the boat has a great vibe. The speedboat was mental. The driver was funny, knowledgeable and again with the great playlist! Worth it to get up close to the rocky coves and hidden gems and see the coastline of Comino. Blue lagoon is busy even now but highly recommend a swim- I went down the slide off the boat but you can jump off the boat.The water was impressively warm for mid November. Had enough time for a swim, a walk and sry off before sailing over to Gozo. Paul our driver in Gozo was lovely. Dropped in a central location had enough time to see a few sights. Things to remember; Take cash Be punctual at the meeting points Get to the Hornblower early if you want a top deckchair There are toilets onboard large enough to change in Food and drink onboard is reasonable, but disappointed I didn’t treat myself to a pineapple; they are €10 with alcohol and are refillable for I think €6? In the autumn/winter months take layers. The sun low late afternoon and sea breeze means topdeck can feel chilly so be prepared. For someone limited time on a short break this was a great was to see bite size highlights and was the perfect way to end my first visit to Malta.
