5.00This was the second of our excursions booked with ANC. The company is very professional and its staff extremely knowledgeable, well organised and friendly. Our guide was Vasco. He collected us on time at our hotel and the whole day in the van with one other couple was a pleasure. The sights were amazing and watching our cooked lunch being removed from the ground surrounded by fumaroles was a highlight. Can thoroughly recommend ANC which is why we booked two more tours with them during our stay in Ponta Delgada. Sao Miguel island is unique.

5.00The tour was great!. Andre is an excellent tour guide, knowledgeable and fun. We visited beautiful places, learnt about the islands history, and tried the famous "cocido" for lunch.

5.00It was a great tour and our guide, Juan is very knowledgeable and helpful. I feel the tour is well structured with great lunch, plenty of time to enjoy the hot spring park etc. Moreover, the last stop at the Queijadas factory is such a highlight (with hindsight). I didn’t realise those Queijadas are so delicious and if I knew that, I would have bought 10 boxes! Now I am searching if I can find them in Lisbon as I am visiting Lisbon in September.

5.00Reuben was informative and helpful throughout the tour. We enjoyed each part of the day, particularly the thermal pool and gardens. 1.5 hours here was not enough to explore the gardens and spend time in the pool. Even two heavy downpours of rain did not spoil the day; the first was when we were in the thermal pool, and it made no difference to us. The second was as we arrived at the tea plantation later; we waited five minutes in the minibus for the rain to ease but the rain stopped while we were inside the building. It was good to have lunch included in this tour. We explored much of the east of the island.

5.00Great experience and almost like a private tour. My wife and I were joined by two ladies from the Canary Islands and guided through some beautiful points on Sao Miguel. Our guide, Ruben, was so pleasant, funny, and accommodating! I'm especially grateful that he helped me practice some Portuguese!

5.00We only had one day on Sao Miguel during our cruise. I booked this tour for my wife and I, because it seemed to include many of the places I wanted to see. But because there were no reviews, I wasn't sure how it would go. I did send a few questions to the operator when I booked it, and received immediate helpful responses, which made me feel better. Their storefront meeting point was right at the pier. When we got there on Monday, April 10, we found that we were the only two travelers booked on the tour. Instead of a Minibus, Roscoe (sp?) took us in a Toyota Land Cruiser. We had a great day, and were able to see even more than was listed. Because of the small group, there was some flexibility in the itinerary. Overall, this day was one of the high points of our Canary Islands and Azores cruise. With the included lunch (and drinks) we felt this full day tour was a great value. Sao Miguel is a beautiful island.
