Just an hour's drive from Valencia, embark on a picturesque adventure in Montanejos. Set off on a guided hike, take in views of the surrounding landscapes, see the mighty Chorro, and enjoy the natural pools ("Fuentes de los Baños").
Begin your day with a morning hike (9km, may be reduced during high heat season) through the mountains and make your way along the Mijares River, enjoying views of the town and the majestic river. The path eventually leads to the Chorro, a powerful water jet that unleashes 4000 liters of water per minute, a mesmerizing spectacle.
Take a dip in the thermal pools (Fuentes de los Baños), said to have been built by Moorish king Abu Zeit to ensure the beauty of his queens. Maintaining a temperature of 23°C throughout the year (so it may seem cooler in summer), they're known for their mineral-rich composition, both relaxing and good for your health.

Good experience - well arranged with pick up and drop off. Hike was nice and the thermal pools are quite nice to chill in. It’s not actually a walk in park as there are some challenging no uphill sections to the hike and the pace is quite fast as well for those who aren’t particularly fit.

Great trip and lovely scenery. Alejandro was helpful and animated. Thermal spring wasn’t particularly warm at all. Café closed for refurbishments and nowhere to buy a drink, not even a water fountain to fill up bottle.

Through the hike there are quite a lot of breathtaking views, ending in a refreshing (perhaps cold for some) swim in a pristine river. Unforgettable experience

Montanejos was lovely. There were good bits and I enjoyed the brief history of Valencia. I found that it was brief though. It was a very mass tourism type of experience. I felt the tour guide wanted to get this done. On the hike of you were a slow hiker you would miss most of the sharing stops where the tour guide would share more the history. It sucked. I wouldn't recommend going on this tour with this tour organiser. Given they werent accessibility friendly.
