Enjoy a Day Trip to Montserrat, traveling by car through the nature of this unique jagged mountain to reach the antique Monastery hidden among the peaks. Admire the architecture of the Montserrat Benedictine Monastery, stroll through the farmers’ market, and taste regional products from Catalonia. Visit the Basilica and “La Moreneta” with your tickets and, if available, enjoy the Children's Choir**. With your guide, take a light hike to La Creu de Sant Miquel viewpoint for breathtaking views.
This tour offers two ways to experience Montserrat: choose the private option, with hotel pick-up and drop-off, or the semi-private option, joining a small group of up to 8 participants with an easy-to-find meeting point.
*This tour is family-friendly and suitable for children.
**In case you want to have lunch, the guide will show you a convenient buffet both in price and quality.

In high season the availability for some attractions are subject to the number of people in Montserrat as there could be long queues.

If there is a last-minute tour, please keep in mind that access to La Moreneta will be subject to availability. In case it is sold out, you will still be able to enter the monastery and complete the rest of the tour as planned.

Enjoy the landscapes that surround Catalunya while your local guide tells you all about the magical mountain and its Benedictine Monastery. 5.00Our private tour to Montserrat with Pau was absolutely perfect from start to finish. He felt like a brother, easygoing, funny, and full of knowledge. He picked us up on time right at our hotel and made the drive to Montserrat fly by as he shared stories about the region, local culture, and what we were seeing along the way. Once there, he dropped us off to explore while he parked the van (down the hill - what a guy!). We wandered for a bit and then met up to explore the market together, sampling cheeses from vendors he clearly knew personally. Everyone greeted him warmly, and they treated us like locals. Inside the church, Pau guided us with just the right mix of history and personality, explaining the significance of La Moreneta (the Black Madonna) while keeping it engaging. Afterward, we hiked to the cross viewpoint, and he pointed out different plants, legends, and bits of history as we went. He really knows his stuff but delivers it in such a relaxed, natural way that it never feels like a lecture. We had lunch at the monastery café, where the conversation (and learning!) continued. Even the drive back to the hotel was full of good stories and laughs. It was a perfect day! Pau made it personal, educational, and fun. We left feeling like we’d spent the day with a friend who just happens to be an expert guide.

5.00Pau was simply AMAZING — no other word fits better! From the moment our tour began, Pau’s energy, passion, and knowledge brought every stop to life. You can tell right away that guiding isn’t just a job for Pau; it’s something done with genuine heart. Every explanation was engaging, every story was full of insight, and the whole group felt included and comfortable. We appreciated how organized everything was, yet it never felt rushed. Pau struck the perfect balance between informative and fun — we learned so much while still laughing and enjoying the experience. You can tell Pau truly loves sharing these places and making sure everyone has the best time possible. By the end of the day, it didn’t feel like we were with a guide, but with a friend who just happens to know everything about the area. Thank you, Pau, for such a memorable experience! We’ll be talking about this tour for a long time.

5.00Our trip to Montserrat was wonderful. Pau picked us up at the hotel right on time. He is wonderful and knowledgeable and gave us detailed commentary on the area, the mountain, and the monastery as we were driving to Montserrat. Once there he introduced us to ricotta with honey YUM that the farmers sell at their stands. We hiked to the cross , saw the black Madonna, heard the boys choir, and sat in the church. He knew the answer to every question we asked. He is so personable and open and even talked about his family’s connection to Montserrat. We never felt rushed . It was such an enjoyable experience . I HIGHLY recommend this trip with Pau.

5.00Our tour guide, PAU, with LoKool Tours, was the very best tour guide you could possibly have if anyone is thinking about booking this tool they should do it with LoKool TOURS and specifically asked for Pau, he was knowledgeable, engaging, friendly, a great driver and all around excellent tour guide highly recommend. If you’re thinking about doing monster or any other tours in the Barcelona area be sure to search Pau with LoKool Tours. OUTSTANDING JOB!! if it was possible to give him 15 stars out of five we would’ve done that. Well worth the money great value great tour guide comfortable Dianne very knowledgeable good driver lotta fun to be with and stayed with us the entire day and made us feel right at home and English was excellent.

5.00Extraordinary day. The history and sites alone were fabulous. But we were blessed with an amazing guide…Pau. He knows the history but captures with his passion nuances that belongs to people in their struggles of faith, pride, and battle that underlies the history. A very gratifying experience.

5.00This was a GREAT experience. Pau, our guide, was very flexible and responsive. Pau picked us up at the ship terminal directly and we loaded the luggage in the back of the van and started our “journey”. He gave us history of the area, the development and government of Barcelona. He was very knowledgeable of the history of Spain and its political challenges over time. Once we arrived at Montserrat area, we took a tram up to the monastery, we walked the paths (bring good walking shoes) as he gave us history of the monastery and the Benedict monks. He was very familiar with the area as his family had ties to the Basilica before Franco’s rule. Pau made sure we were able to see the inside of the church and touched the “Black Madonna”. We grabbed lunch while we were there and he drove us back to the hotel at the end of the day.

5.00Pay is a great tour guide and gave us option of walk up to the cross or seeing the Museum for extra 13 Euros per person and we also paid 11 more Euros per person on the Monestrat ticket app for the awesome boys choir at 1 pm. We saw the inside of the beautiful church and great outside views of the area. The whole tour takes around 5.5 hours.
