Cycling in the City of Lakes – Udaipur

The City of Lakes, Udaipur is one of the most romantic cities in the world and has also earned the sobriquet “Venice of the East”. The cycling tour in Udaipur is a perfect adventure and cultural activity to do. We starts from the mighty Fateh Sagar Lake and ride on a scenic road with lake on one side and Aravalli mountains on other, as we cross the lake, pedaling the beautiful countryside of Udaipur through some of the most eye-catching landscapes as we spin across village fields, letting the cold wind energize your mind and soul.

Loved the experience of being able to ride through the village roads of Udaipur. The lead biker ensured we had the right bikes and were well hydrated.

This was by far my favourite activity in Jaipur! Pranshu, Jyoti, Johri were excellent in keeping us safe and enthusiastically showed us around the city. This tour provides a cultural experience that you wouldn’t get on your own. Highly recommend!

We spend 3 hours cycling around the city with a really great team! Organisation is perfect and fully secured, the team is really professional and friendly. Country side early morning is peaceful and beautiful. I strongly recommend this activity!

The trip was really fabulous! They took great care in ensuring the equipment was suitable for the group and took safety seriously, with a lead guide and support car following up. Highlights were the perfectly timed sunrise over the lake and then climbing into the surrounding hills and countryside. We rode through villages and stopped off in a farm to try our hand at harvesting wheat! Great experience. Generally the cycling is not difficult although there are some short steeper bits. Some of the road surfaces also require you to be reasonably competent - but nothing too bad. Overall - thoroughly recommend this experience.

I went on the morning bike tour in the country side of Udaipur with Lokesh. We went uphill and downhill, into villages and along lakes. It was a wonderful tour with beautiful views and sime slight challenges for someone coming from flat country. I can highly recommend this tour.

off the beaten path , driving thru hamlets with as few as 600 people. Guide choose quite roads so felt safe. We drove by city reservoir which was pristine

A pre-dawn bicycle ride around Jaipur is not for the faint hearted but I'd say get over your fears and give it a go. The well maintained mountain bikes were easy to ride and Archie, Sam and Anuj took time to ensure everyone had the right bike, seat height, well fitting helmet, headlights on, etc. We all received a water bottle and off we went. We were four women and had three guides riding with us so we knew exactly where to go and no one was left behind. Our first stop was to feed the cows with fresh grass (not easily found in the city and then to take a great photo of The Palace of the Winds. Once in the old city walls we stopped for a cup of chai and then on to the markets - fresh vegetables and flowers everywhere. Women in very colourful saris were helping to unload the produce in big bags balanced on their heads. A very unexpected stop was to the laughing yoga where we literally did laugh and do some wonderful exercises in the early morning light. We ended the session by throwing flower petals up into the air and it was both fun and exhilarating. From there to a local temple where the service was underway - yet another exhilarating experience with hundreds of local people chanting, singing and clapping. We had breakfast together, a delicious cup of lassi and loved riding around this beautiful old city. Huge thanks to Archie, Sam and Anuj and particularly to Sam - I was wobbly and nervous and he went out of his way to ensure I was safe and happy. Very much appreciated.

Viju, very friendly, we took a walk of about twenty kilometers in the surroundings of the viewpoints, superb breakfast by the lake very friendly The bikes are well maintained, we discover the surroundings of udaipur in the quiet of the morning The presence of a follower car is totally reassuring

We were 10 members of the family for the bike tour of Udaipur. Our guide Viju was really great and funny and had an excellent French which was a good surprise! The bikes were in very good conditions and the trip was a good way to see the surroundings of Udaipur differently. I recommend!
