Early morning is the best time for learning about the ancient history of the sanctuary, capturing the most stunning photos at the sanctuary, enjoying the nature surrounding and encounter some wild animals...

experience made early in the morning, with the birds singing and the sun arriving slowly and creating a perfect light! the guide was very knowledgeable and kind. Lovely place, highly recommended!
Beautiful if you go early. Use the audio guide. Lower your expectations on food

Positive is the early morning quietness before the crowds come. Negative 1. if you are sensitive to sexist humour -you may find the guide's commentary irritating (wife is "rice", girlfriend is "rice noodle". And the food was appalling greasy broth and grisly meat. Ugh! And that in the context of wonderful food being so easily available.

Early morning is the best time of day to visit My Son Sanctuary. Unfortunately our tour was a bit disappointing. We had 12 on our 12 seater bus so it was quite cramped and uncomfortable. While we got to the Sanctuary early, the tour guide spent a long time talking. While we expected to hear details, the narrative was repetitive with lots of rhetorical questions. I don’t want a quiz to test how closely I have been listening. For breakfast we had chicken and rice noodle soup which was tasty. One weird thing was at breakfast, my partner asked about how to eat one of the fruits that we were unfamiliar with. The tour guide came over and picked up my Java apple and split it open with his fingers. You shouldn’t touch people’s food with unwashed hands. So I couldn’t try this fruit. Anyway, having a small group is great but a bigger bus and a more refined narrative would have improved the experience. I would recommend but suggest people ask about the size of the bus.
